FIGHT!
A pack of Deinonychus are searching their territory for any signs of prey. The alpha catches a whiff of something. It’s a large mammal. He tells his pack to move out, but cautiously. Large mammals are either really easy kills or really hard ones. The alpha doesn’t want to lose the element of surprise if it’ll be a difficult kill.
A moose is exiting the forest and is making his way across the plains of Canada. He stoops to take a drink from a small creek and moves on. The bull has just grown his antlers for the year and he’s quite proud of them. He notices a patch of small flowers. He’s not hungry, but he can’t resist the treat. He walks over and starts feeding.
The raptors have made it to the edge of the treeline and are watching the moose. This moose will not go down easily. However, nearly a ton of flesh will go a long way. The alpha sends one of his subordinates to sneak around the moose. The raptor gives the moose a wide berth so that he doesn’t notice him. Then the raptor leaps out of hiding, snarling. The bull bellows and takes off for the trees. This is exactly what the raptors wanted. As the moose nears the trees, the pack leaps out and hisses. The moose skids to a stop and shakes his antlers at the raptors. They hiss and he takes off. The raptors give chase. They can outrun the moose if they wanted to, but that’s not the goal here. They want the moose to tire out. The pack chases him along the treeline for half a mile before the moose unexpectedly turns. The raptors follow him into the trees and continue the chase. They weave in amongst the trees as the moose simply plows forward. He enters a clearing with a rock face at one side. This is where he’ll make his stand.
The bull turns and faces the pack, back to the rock. The raptors stop short, unsure of what to do. They’ll have a hard time getting to his hindquarters. Now they have to get through the angry wall of antlers. The alpha and two of his members stay in front of the moose, distracting him. Two others melt into the forest and take up positions on the flanks of the bull. Without warning, the raptors leap out and land on his flanks. The bull bellows and shakes as the raptors slash with both claws and teeth. Some slash marks are over two feet long! The moose turns and smashes his flank into the rock face, crushing a raptor and splattering the rock with blood. The other raptor leaps off and lands next to his pack mates. The alpha hisses and the bull shakes his antlers back in agitation. The moose does a short charge at the raptors, scattering them. That was a mistake though. His back is exposed. The alpha leaps into action, driving his claws deep into the thigh of the moose. The moose bucks and throws the raptor off. The alpha lands on his feet and snarls at the moose. The moose makes his way back to the rock face for protection.
The raptors try to get at his flank, but he turns and fends them off with his antlers. They attempt to do it again, but the same thing happens. With lightning fast speed, the alpha rushes in and slashes the bull’s face with his hand claws before the moose can react. Blood pours from his torn open nose and stains the ground. The moose bellows and the raptors hiss and snarl. They ruffle their feathers in anger and agitation while blood drips from their claws and teeth. A raptor gets cocky and attacks without warning. He leaps high into the air at the bull, claws outstretched, jaws wide open. The moose swings his head and catches the raptor in his antlers. He slams the raptor to the ground and gores him. The alpha leaps in and slashes the bull’s shoulder, causing him to stop. But it’s far too late. The raptor is a crushed and bloody mess. The alpha gives the signal to retreat. Clouds are beginning to gather and night will soon be upon them. They’ll be back.
Night comes and the sky erupts with thunder and lighting. The moose never moved away from the rock face. The raptors are back. The moose watches as three sets of glowing eyes appear in the forest. Then, they’re joined by more. The moose is terrified. He had no idea there’d be more! The alpha raptor leaps onto the top of the rock face and stares down at the moose. As the lightning strikes, so does he. He leaps down and lands on the back of the bull, claws and teeth digging into flesh. The moose bellows in pain and the rest of the pack rushes in. It’s an all out frenzy! The raptors slash and open up hideous wounds in the moose. The moose manages to crush one raptor skull with his hoof and gore a few others. But they just keep coming. Eventually, as thunder booms and lighting strikes, his throat is torn open and his stomach is too. As his intestines and life blood pour out, the raptors shriek in victory.
After some minor infighting, the alpha asserts his dominance and eats first. But it’s a meal for the pack. The moose carcass is torn apart as the rain begins to fall.
Winner- Deinonychus
Fast, smart, and dangerous, these raptors were not gonna go down easily. They lost a number of members to the moose, but there were just too many.
Next time on Clash of Past and Present...
Grizzly bears are among the largest and most dangerous land carnivores today. Australovenator literally means the southern hunter. Both are deadly with nasty claws. So what would a clash between these two be like? Find out only on Clash of Past and Present.

Sci-Fi, I appreciate the offer, but I got strict rules with my Clash Of Series. I've already done 3 other seasons(while ago) and they all had 5 fights and a bonus. I already have the 5 fights and bonus done here. Sorry :)
