MemberCompsognathusAug-07-2014 12:38 PMIn a 1v1, 63/37 in favor of Rex.
However, a family unit of, say... 2 Adult Rexes, a subadult, and an adolescent, vs a pack of Giga's... 60/40 in favor of Giganotosaurus.
Here, have a waffle (-'.')-#

MemberCompsognathusAug-07-2014 12:38 PMid say 55/45 in gigas favor

MemberTyrannosaurus RexAug-07-2014 1:19 PMBetween 65-35 and 70-30 Rex's favour. Tyrannosaurus Rex had the highest bite force of any land animal ever discovered, it's teeth were designed specifically to crush anything unfortunate enough to be caught in its jaws, and it was intelligent. On the other hand, Giganotosaurus may have been more agile and faster, but it wasn't as heavy or physically as strong. If it was one vs one, that's my reasoning.

MemberCompsognathusAug-07-2014 1:28 PMRex isn't THAT much stronger then giga and he has a decently powered bite also. Gig as bite is just as destructive also and I say 50/50

MemberTyrannosaurus RexAug-07-2014 1:36 PMGiga was a sauropod slayer. It was lightweight compared to Tyrannosaurus. Why? When you hunt sauropods, you don't need to be extremely muscled. It doesn't matter if you weigh 5 tons or 50 tons, when 100+ tons of sauropod comes crashing down on you! you're screwed. So, it makes sense that way for Giga to be lighter than Rex, a similar sized theropod in length and weight. Rex was an ambush hunter and killed dinosaurs similar to its size or smaller, so a heavier build would be more useful in that situation. If you're fighting something similar in size, you want to be more heavily built.

MemberCompsognathusAug-07-2014 1:41 PMI'm just gonna state this now, the sauropods in gigas environment were mostly in the 10-20 ton range, there was also ekrixinatosaurus.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexAug-07-2014 1:42 PMForgot about Amargasaurus (or however it's spelled). Still, being lighter and more agile would still be useful to avoid the tail.

MemberCompsognathusAug-07-2014 6:03 PMNot actually amargasaurus, but andesaurus and another little obscure sauropod

MemberCompsognathusAug-08-2014 5:51 AMI never understan why do people always comming with a 70-30 to rex.the truth is that we dont know.there are just too many variations.of course a hardcore t.rex fan will say that 70-30 for t.rex,a hardcore giga fan will say the opposite.but really it is 50/50 cause i said there are too many variation.
about the sauropods:there's a new giant that lived with giganotosaurus and was as big as an argentinosaurus(or even bigger)
