Heavy Metal Match-Up

Now here's a fight I had planned for a while now and it's finally here! Not your typical Dino vs Dino fight, I'll say that ;)

Grimlock

FIGHT!

Rush hour was just getting underway in Chicago. The city’s residents had no idea what was about to happen. Just outside the city, Grimlock is on patrol. Ever since the Decepticon attack on Chicago, the Transformers have been wary. In the distance, Grimlock swears he can hear metal footsteps. He transformers into Tyrannosaurus mode and heads off in the direction of the sound.

Making his way to the city is the Tyrannozord. He managed to get away from the Rangers and is exploring the world. He hears something coming and turns to face it. It’s Grimlock. Not being too bright, Grimlock assumes the Tyrannozord is a Decepticon coming to attack Chicago. He roars at the incoming robot, hoping he’ll scare him off. The Tyrannozord takes it as a challenge and roars back. The battle lines have been drawn and a heavy metal match-up is about to take place.

Grimlock charges his rival, jaws wide open. The Tyrannozord sidesteps and kicks out with his foot. He manages to trip the DinoBot and Grimlock falls head over heals. Grimlock rolls over and roars at the Tyrannozord. The Tyrannozord charges this time. Instead of side stepping, Grimlock decides to take it head on. Grimlock lowers his head and the two collide head on, literally. They shove back and forth for a while, neither gaining an advantage. Then Grimlock shifts his head, driving one of his horns into the Tyrannozord. The Tyrannozord leaps back in shock and roars loudly. Grimlock takes advantage and charges again. He slams into the Tyrannozord, shoving him to the ground. He lunges for the zord, but gets kicked in the face instead. Grimlock stumbles back, shaking his huge head. His eyes lock with the zords and they stare at each other for a while. Then the stare is broken when the Tyrannozord roars and charges. He goes low, then brings his jaws up, clamping onto Grimlock’s throat. The metallic screeching of the zords teeth on the Grimlock’s throat can be heard for miles. Then Grimlock overpowers the zord and slams him to the ground.

Grimlock lunges forward, but the Tyrannozord rolls out of the way. Grimlock’s jaws close on nothing but dirt. The battle has taken them closer and closer to the city. Grimlock looks up and sees the Tyrannozord charging. He doesn’t have time to react though. The zord slams into him, sending Grimlock flying into the city streets. Hundreds of shocked bystanders run for it. Grimlock stands up and inadvertently steps on a parked car. A small explosion shortly follows. Grimlock charges the Tyrannozord and slams him into a skyscraper, shattering glass and sending concrete and metal flying. The zord pushes back and shoves Grimlock aside. The two robots then enter into a shoving match. They push and shove each other all up and down city streets. Panicked people run everywhere, abandoning cars and businesses. The Tyrannozord pushes hard, slamming Grimlock into the Field Museum. Inside, the skeleton of Sue, the most complete T.rex shakes a little due to the impact. Grimlock gets up and roars loudly. He charges the Tyrannozord, jaws wide open. But the Tyrannozord has an idea of what to do. He powers up his tail and it starts spinning. As Grimlock draws closer, the drill tail is at full power. The Tyrannozord roars and turns. Grimlock can’t stop in time and the tip of the tail slams into his flank at full speed. It wrenches wires and metal away from Grimlock’s body and the DinoBot roars loudly. He decides that he too will employ his deadliest weapon. He takes in a deep breath, and opens his jaws. The Tyrannozord watches as Grimlock’s jaws turn bright orange and a stream of fire slams into his still spinning tail. The Tyrannozord roars and rips his charred tail away from the Transformer. Grimlock continues to shoot fire and it strikes the Tyrannozord in the neck and flank with so much force it slams him into a nearby building.

Grimlock finally stops firing after this. The Tyrannozord struggles to get up and looks Grimlock in the eye. He “snorts” in frustration and limps off, away from Chicago. That’s enough exploring for one day. Grimlock roars in victory and sends a ball of fire into the air to let everyone know about it.

It was a very even fight. Each contender had roughly the same weapons and each had their own “super weapon.” Perhaps it was his sheer will to protect Chicago from what he deemed a threat that allowed Grimlock to win the day. That is, after all, the way of the Autobots. Protect those that can’t protect themselves, though the Tyrannozord really wasn’t that big a threat. But who’s gonna tell Grimlock that?
