Suchomimus
"Crocodile Mimic"
Length: 11 meters
Weight: 4 tons
Era: Early Cretaceous
Suchomimus looks like a crocodile on steroids. It spends the majprity of it's life in the shallow waters of isla Nublar, eating a variety of sharks and rays, and even the occasional crocodile. It has next to no competition, and because of this their numbers have exploded in recent years. They are somewhat social animals, especially when prey is plentiful. There has been as many as thirty of these spinosaurs on one stretch of beach. Suchomimus doesn't tolerate other spinosaurs for some odd reason, and they will even attack a large spinosaur if it intrudes on the Suchomimus' beach.
Tarbosaurus
" Alarming Lizard"
Length: 10 meters
Weight: 4.5 tons
Era: Cretaceous
Tarbosaurus is a solitary Tyrannosaur. Unlike its larger kin, This asian tyrannosaur is capable of reaching a speedy 40 miles an hour in short bursts. This helps it chase down the ornithomimids and faster Hadrosaurs which make up most of its diet. Tarbosaurus individuals have been known to crossbreed with other tyrannosaurus. The offspring have not been known to survive for long, however. There are reports of a large Tyrannosaurid, seeming to be a mixture of Tarbosaurus and Gorgosaurus lurking the dense jungles of Nublar. Whether it's the result of crossbreeding, or a new species yet undiscovered, is undetermined.
Here we go..
Through the mist that engulfed his estuary home, the Suchomimus could make out several sihlouettes of spectacular proportions. They moved with fluid ease, running at high rates of speed, darting in between the trees. The animals made a soft chirping sound as they ran playfully around the trees. The sound was recognizable to the spinosaur; the resident ornithomimus herd that shared his territory. Too fast for him to catch, he generally left them alone To the north, the fog had let up signifigantly. The bright morning rays of sun piercing the shadowy fog filled atmosphere.
The calm was destroyed by an unearthly roar. One that pierced the eardrums of the Spinosaur and sent the ornithomimids packing. A deathly silence flowed throughout the estuary.
Now on guard, the Spinosaur narrowed his eyes and attempted to pinpoint the creature that had much such an ungodly sound. The pitch was one the Suchomimus had been accustomed to living in this prime stretch of teritory. It was a challenge, and one that would be met. He cautiously began to walk towards the sound, the fog once again settling over the estuary. The atmosphere was electric with tension and distress, but the crocodile mimic pressed forward. He growled menacingly, stopping in his tracks and waiting for a response. Several tense minutes passed, before an issuing shriek filled the sky. Then, the shadowy outline of something immense and bipedal came stalking straight at the Suchomimus.
The piercing rays of sun revealed the blood red snout and head of a bull Tarbosaurus. His severly scarred snout showed he was a veteran, an old one at that. He evidently had experience in intraspecific combat, and this sent a tinge of worry through the Suchomimus' being. Nonetheless, he stood his ground. He hissed lowly, snapping his crocodilian like jaws shut with tremendous force. The resulting popping sound echoed through the still estuary. All eyes were on the combat oriented carnivores now.
The Tarbosaurus roared once again, that unearthly sound that seemed to come straight from hell. He swished his head feverently back and forth, staying some distance from the Suchomimus. The Spinosaur responded by clawing madly at the air, brandishing his lethal looking claws. He reared, attempting to scare off the tyrannosaur by making himself appear larger. The bluff was unsuccesful, for after half a minute, the Tyrannosaur took a few steps slowly towards the Spinosaur.
The Crocodile mimic planted his feet firmly into the muddy soil, hissing loudly and once more snapping his jaws with force. The Tyrannosaur was undettered, and began to circle slowly around the territory owner. He pivoted to face the Tarbosaurus with each step, warily keeping both eyes on it. His legs were fraught with tension, ready to spring forward at a moments notice.
The Tyrannosaur closed the circle, and the already unnerved Spinosaur lurched forward. He caught the Tarbosaurus off guard, launching himself onto its side and knocking it to the ground. He pinned it with his immense weight, and shredded the Asian Tyrants ribcage area and shoulder region. The blood flowed as if a dam had just burst, covering the fertile soil and staining it an ugly reddish-purple coloraiton. He latched his teeth onto the Tyrannosaurs arm, tearing a large chunk of it away with apparent ease. Screeching in unadulterated agony, The Tyrannosaur kicked out, landing a direct blow to the Suchomimus' chest. The unexpected blow sent the fish eater reeling back; giving the tyrannosaur time to recover and get back to his feet.
But the Suchomimus was quick, and came rushing at him once more as he was on his feet. As the narrow jawed theropod approached, the Tyrannosaur lowered his head and lunged forward. His impressively large head landed squarely in the middle of the Spinosaurs chest, once more sending him back pedaling. Only this time, the Tyrannosaur followed. As the Suchomimus tried to spin around, the Tyrannosaur bit down on his back. He began to shake the Crocodilian theropod like a ragdoll, his teeth scraping against the back vertebrate and even cracking a couple. He flung the Spinosaurid a few meters to the left, and began to walk away.
As he approached a small conifer tree to scent mark it, a searing pain erupted in his calf. He turned around and in a moment of shock, saw the Spinosaur latched onto his leg. He Grunted suprise more then pain, shaking his leg feverently in an attempt to dislodge the Suchomimus.
The shake had worked, and the Asian tyrant was upon the crocodile mimic in seconds. While it was attempting to get back on its hind legs, he bit down on his snout, a resulting crunching sound echoed through the fog, and the Spinosaur now had his turn at severe pain. He shook his head to rid himself of it, but the tyrannosaur held steadfast. The Tyrannosaur went to get a better grip, when the Suchomimus slapped his forearm into the side of his neck.
He stumbled back, and the Spinosaur rushed forward. Agile for his size, the tarbosaurus stepped to the side as the crocodilian theropod went rushing blindly by. He felt the head that imminated from his rival as he passed close by. He bit down on the nape of his neck, stopping the Spinosaur in his tracks and jarring the tyrannosaur quite a bit.
He forced the african theropod to the fertile soils as it struggled violently. It's claws went to work on the side of his neck, leaving large lacerations but this did not deter the attack. All was silent for a moment, before the Tarbosaurus crushed the Spinosaurs neck with two tons of force. He flung the Spinosaur from his jaws and walked from the grisly battle scene. The pain radiated through his entire body, and with shakiness ever so abundant, he lifted his head into the air and gave a victorious roar.
Winner....Tarbosaurus!
