The Yutyrannus is hunting. She had just had a successful hunt a day earlier, but her family is quickly growing, and she has to sustain herself, her mate, and their four chicks.

The Carnotaurus is standing in a dark cave. He's been waiting for an ideal meal to walk by for a few hours, and he's starting to lose hope for the day. He briefly stuck his head out the cave, and he saw the Yutyrannus. She was standing still, facing away from him. He slowly snuck up behind her, ready to kill her with a swift bite.

The Yutyrannus didn't know how much danger she was in, but a twig snapping alerted her to the unseen threat. She turned around and roared. She didn't see anything right away, but a small piece of bone got her attention. She backed off, wondering what unseen force was causing the bone to float.

The Carnotaurus stood still and didn't make a sound. The Yutyrannus stared at where he was. All she saw was the small piece of bone, and the outline of a carnivore. She flashed her teeth and growled, ready for a fight. The Carnotaurus still didn't make a sound or move, thinking she was paranoid. The Yutrannus mock charged. The Carnotaurus still didn't react. Now, the Carnotaurus is trying to make the Yutyrannus think she's seeing things.

The Yutyrannus charged. She hit the Carnotaurus hard, knocking him to the ground. The Carnotaurus lashed out as she attacked him again, and she stumbled into a tree. The Carnotaurus stood up and roared, and the Yutyrannus roared back. They charged at each other, neither slowing down as they got nearer. The Yutyrannus ducked last second and then swung her head up. The Carnotaurus flipped over the Yutyrannus's back and landed on his side.

The Yutyrannus turned around and looked at the Carnotaurus. He was slowly getting up, but he was hit pretty hard. She charged at him again, this time jumping over his back, ready to use his back as a launch pad. The Carnotaurus rolled to the side, and the Yutyrannus hit air. She kept going, landed awkwardly and rolled a few feet. She quickly stood up, shaking her head for a moment and then growled.

The Carnotaurus had stood up by now, and he took his turn to charge. The Carnotaurus headbutted her chest, and the Yutyrannus was knocked to the ground. The Carnotaurus attacked her again, going for her gut. The Yutyrannus kicked him in the head, and then she rolled over and stood up while he was dazed. The Carnotaurus came to his senses before the Yutyrannus could take advantage, and she saw that. He had been facing away from her when she kicked him, so she hid in the woods.

The Carnotaurus didn't see her anywhere, so he turned to leave, assuming he had won. The Yutyrannus charged from the woods, reaching him before he could process what was happening. The Yutyrannus then bit his neck and shoved him to the ground. He tried kicking her, but she was biting the back of his neck. His good arm was too short to reach her, and he couldn't fight back. The Yutyrannus let go of his neck and stepped back. As he rolled over to stand up, she ran and jumped. The Carnotaurus didn't have time to react as the Yutyrannus curb stomped his head into the ground, breaking his jaw, crushing his skull, and internally decapitating him.

The Yutyrannus looked at the corpse. It would be a heavy load to haul all the way to the nest. She carefully ripped the side open, at her fill from some of the organs, but was careful to leave the best of the meat for her family. She dragged the carcass a few miles to her nest, and she was greeted warmly by her mate. The chicks were sleeping, so they went to sleep as well.

Equally strong, more agile, more to fight for, she had an advantage once the Carnotaurus was revealed
