The End of The Drought

When the water supply on Thorn's old paddock was almost done, Thorn heard thunder in the distance. She looked towards it, and Muldoon looked where Thorn was looking, but he didn't know what she was looking at. "See something? I don't see anything." Muldoon saw that Thorn was a little more positive than what she had been the whole drought. "You hear thunder? See lighting?" Thorn didn't understand, but she continued looking off in the distance. She saw a storm was coming, and she knew it was going to be big.

She looked at Muldoon, and gestured for him to climb on her back. He did, and she went to find a suitable place to wait out the storm. Muldoon heard the thunder, and he saw the lighting. "Clever girl Princess. Any plan on where we're going?" Thorn continued walking, and when she found a spot that she liked, she lied on her belly, and Muldoon climbed off and went into the cavern Thorn had found.

Thorn lied down outside and fell asleep, and Muldoon sat in the cavern, cleaning his SPAS 12. It started to pour rain after Thorn fell asleep, and she didn't wake up throughout the storm. Muldoon looked at her, amazed that she's sleeping through the storm. "Once again, John was right. She is a heavy sleeper, I can't believe she's sleeping through this tropical storm."

When the storm subsided, Thorn woke up. She looked around, and the main watering hole had returned to its original size. Muldoon came out of the cavern, and Thorn lied down to allow Muldoon to mount on her back. As soon as he was ready, Thorn walked to their preferred hunting ground, the main watering hole.

When they got there, the Triceratops herd was still there. Thorn looked and saw some Parasaurolophus where drinking and grazing on the opposite side. She also saw Lady Margaret, who had somehow survived the last three weeks of the drought. Thorn circled around, let Muldoon down, attacked a Parasaurolophus, killed it and picked it up. She walked to Muldoon, and he mounted. They went back to the paddock and ate. Thorn ate her fill while Muldoon was cooking his. She fell asleep, and Muldoon watched her for a few minutes before he finished his meal and also went to sleep.
