Journey to the south
April 10th 2005
The following documentary is 100% real and is co-funded by National-Geographic and is authorized by the costarican government
I was sent to Isla Sorna by the Patel company to study the habits of herbivores in the wild of Isla sorna to incorporate the knowledge to their upcoming park on nublar, when I arrived I was alone, alone in this great green island, it was getting late, since the predators roam the center of the island I decided to make camp on the shore.
The next morning I woeke up to see a river was actually nearby so I decide to follow it thinking that there would be many dinosaurs getting a drink of water. turns out I was right the river lead to an open in the forest there where hundreds of dinosaurs of many species,
brachiosaurus with big gray necks that stretched to the bright blue sky, eating the tall trees that only they could reach, a pack of stegosauruses that where eating fresh green ferns that still had dew on there laves, there were even male pachisefalosaurus crashing their heads to prove ho was stronger, but what really got my attention was a heard of parasaurolophus that was composed by a family of five individuals: an alpha male with a very large crest that proved his status, a younger male that had an abnormal gray skin, and 3 gorgeous females.
I decided to follow that heard since the time I discovered that they where migrating to the south of the island to lay eggs, they had to endure a long journey, along the way I could see that like lions or other mammals they care deeply for their mates, I firsr witnessed it when they stopped at a waterfall in the forest everything looked so calmed an quiet there was a beautiful rainbow forming from the light of the sun combined with the splashes and the bubbles that from the water, but then a young female tiranosaurus aproched the group I hid in some bushes while the trex cornered one of the females, she was about to attack but the 2 males aproched her and started to make a very loud high frequencie noise, it hurt so much that the trex had to retreat, the alpha male aproched the female in a cute and hearth warming moment, he rubed his face against hers to make her feel better.
After days of trabeling they started to feel tiered so they slept while the young male went in search for berries to bring back, while he was gone the rest slept in a circle around a medow of bright blue, red and yellow flowers, the sun was shining but the sound of thunder waked them up as they saw a grat thunder storm form, they all ran to a small cabe exept a small female that was waiting for the other male ho was his mate to return, thunder started to fall up on the trees, she waited and waited, until the storm had passed, then when they all went looking for him all they found was a carcas floating in the river, a large tree had fallen on the young parasaurolophus and fell in to the river, he could not lift the heavy tree and had drowned, at this horrific sigth the small female cried an along with the rest it let out a sound a cry filed with sadness, its mate was dead.
After a week they finally got to the south of sorna, when they laid their eggs the other male guarded them form oviraptor he even guarded the eggs that weren’t his, and when they hatched he raised them and cared about them as if they where his own
When I left sorna I discovered that dinosaurs aren’t the savage monsters people think they are they are kind animals that have feelings, they think they love, they fell sadness, they react almost as a human beings would react, they have souls.

It has been almost 10 years since I left Isla sorna the costarican government and the UN want to preserve the island as a nature reserve, but many people across the world think that letting the dinosaurs roam free on an island is to dangerous and have started a strike to convince the government to get rid of them, and the patel company wants to use them in their park, Timothy Hammond’s grandson has taken over Hammond’s environmentalist group, he has asked me to make a report on video that should show that dinosaurs aren’t the bloody killing machines everyone thinks they are and that they deserve to be free.
When I arrived at the beach I noticed many things had changed, due to global warming the great vast green forests and jungles had turned into small patches of grass in a large yellow prairie filled with tall brown dried grass, ther had been a drought and the river was only half foul and on that river lied the carcass of a big spinosaurus that had died of hunger, but certain types of herbivores had prospered feedeing on the grass like a cow would feed on straw
There in the prairie where triceratops clashing their horns, and stegosauruses drinking what little water there was, but far away I could see a shape a shape that I could recognize any ware, parasaurolophus, it was the same heard that I had seen there were 8 teens including the other males children one even got his strange coloration and 4 adults the alpha male had gotten old many males from other heards had tried to take over his place but he could still figth but not for long.
Each day the river would shrink and shrink till the point that there was almost no watrer left the parasaurolophus controlled part of the teretory, and in the most unexpected act of kindness that I have ever seen, instead of battling for the water like others animals would they instead shared it with others evebn if they weren’t from the same species, but when all the water runed out they had no choise but to migrate to another island, due to climate changes and low seatide a small bride of shallow water had opened and could allow them to go to another island that was still green in aboundance, the heard along with many other packs of difrent species arrived at the shore many weren’t able to cross as they fell victims of an unseen underwater predator but all of the parasaurolophus where able to get to the other island Isla tacaño, while other dinosaurs made it to other islands from the five deaths.
The parasaurolophus where exhausted and the trip cosseted a toll on the old male, he panted and brathed heavily, with all the sreangth he had left he crawled in to a clearing in the forest, where he died peasfull all the other parasaurollophus picked up brigthly colored flowers and grass to cover him, they all cried and the noise could be heard from miles away, it was at ths point that the oddly colored male took responsibility of the heard, as all the other islands became populated with dinosaurs all I could think of was the words of a wrigther ‘’life find a way’’
When I got back to the main land I showed the footage to tim ho proceded to make a documentary of it and it was exhibited to make people realize that we canot control those animals and that we should let them be free, I also found out that there was and accident at patels new park, al of this combined made the people understand that all these animals need is to be left alone to live their lives.
