Albertosaurus
Alpha Male
The Alpha male Albertosaurus is two and a half tons. He's fast and agile, but he's also incredibly strong. He's got years of experience.
Alpha Female
The Alpha Female is two and a half tons. She's also fast and agile, but she is also stronger than her mate. Like her mate, she has years of experience.
Followers
There are three followers. Two are two tons in weight, one is two and a quarter tons. The largest follower is a female. She has more experience than her younger brothers, but not near as much as their parents. The two ton brothers are the least experienced in the pack, but they can handle a fight.
Carcharodontosaurus
The individual is a seven ton male. He is experienced as they get by Carcharodontosaurus standards. He's a battle scarred old male, capable of killing almost anything he wants. Almost anything. His strength has been proven time and time again against the largest of Allosaurids and small Sauropods.
Begin!
The Albertosaurus pack is hunting. Their territory was recently wiped out by a volcano, but they all survived. They were in an unfamiliar area, but they liked ledges and hills. They were unaware of what owned the territory, but this pack was feared by everything, and had little to fear.
The Carcharodontosaurus sensed the intruders and went to check it out. He saw the pack, and he was determining how to take them out. He would try to scare them off, but if that doesn't work, the alphas may be the best targets.
The Carcharodontosaurus roared at the pack. All five turned around in unison. They looked at their challenger. He was covered in scars, but they weren't fazed by his appearance. The alphas roared, and their three offspring roared as well. The Carcharodontosaurus was surprised by the confidence shown by the pack as the alphas stepped toward him.
The Carcharodontosaurus roared again and stomped on the ground. The alphas saw their opponent's attempts to scare them off as fear, as weakness. Both alphas roared again, and the Carcharodontosaurus flashed his teeth. The alphas flashed their teeth, and their offspring did as well. The Carcharodontosaurus saw he was about to go against a close-knit family group, and he wasted no time charging.
The alphas sidestepped, as did their offspring. They regrouped as the Carcharodontosaurus turned around. The female opened her jaws and slammed them shut three times. Their daughter went to the left, their sons went to the right. The Carcharodontosaurus hissed as they circled him, but he didn't lose focus of the alphas for more than a split second at a time. The male looked at their one son and nodded. He ran and bit the back of the Carcharodontosaurus's leg. The Carcharodontosaurus looked at the male and lunged, and the alphas attacked.
They jumped at his side and drove their claws in. The Carcharodontosaurus roared in pain as the alphas bit him, and pretty shortly, the female was also on his side. The two males were keeping the Carcharodontosaurus's attention. The Carcharodontosaurus shook them off after several minutes, but the alphas were relentless. They jumped and grabbed his arms. Both arms were ripped off quickly, and the Carcharodontosaurus roared in pain. The alphas stood by their sons, and they looked for their daughter. She was behind the Carcharodontosaurus.
The alpha male looked at the alpha female, and she roared. Their daughter attacked the Carcharodontosaurus's leg, and the alphas quickly attacked in the brief moment he was distracted. The female ran out from under the Carcharodontosaurus, and she stood by her brothers.
They were all impressed. They had practiced all this for years. When they messed up, their mother would bite their snouts, as punishment for screwing up. They always thought it was because she was angry or didn't care for them, but they weren't aware of the truth of it. She had always been harder on the female than the two males, and the female thought it was favouritism.
The alphas paused the attack for a moment. The looked at their offspring and gave an attack order. The female did, as did one of the males. They attacked head on, biting the Carcharodontosaurus's underbelly before running out behind him. The third offspring was still thinking of the practicing when the Carcharodontosaurus took the opportunity. He didn't bother shaking the alphas off, and he ignored the pain in his gut. He charged, biting the Albertosaurus's neck and quickly snapping it. The alphas saw what was coming, and they had barked another attack order and had started slashing harder.
They watched as the Carcharodontosaurus dropped their son's lifeless body. The female jumped off, and the male quickly followed. The Carcharodontosaurus turned toward the female. She was looking at him, teeth flashed, breathing heavily, a fire in her eyes burning like the fires of hell itself, and she roared. The Carcharodontosaurus roared back, and the female charged him head on. She took advantage of the fact that his head was closer to the ground and started slashing his neck. He stood up, and she held on. The Carcharodontosaurus tried to shake her off, but she only slid farther down his neck.
The alpha male didn't know what to do. They had never practiced this, so he charged. He jumped and landed next to his mate. They were both slashing and biting, and their second son attacked, followed by their daughter. The Carcharodontosaurus shook violently, and he managed to knock off the two offspring. He attacked the male. He bit his chest and picked him up. The alphas managed to make him drop their son, but it was too late. The male hit the ground with a thud, and he was barely alive. The Carcharodontosaurus turned his attention to the last three.
The daughter was standing now, and the alphas stood by her side. The alpha male roared, the female was downright pissed, and their daughter wasn't sure what to do. The alpha male made the first move. He charged and stopped just outside the Carcharodontosaurus's attack range. The Carcharodontosaurus fell for the action and lunged. The alpha female took her turn to charge, and she jumped when she was close. The Carcharodontosaurus tried to catch her, but he missed, and the female landed on his back. The Carcharodontosaurus tried to shake her off, but she drove her claws deep into his sides and started biting his back.
The alpha male stepped back and looked at their daughter. She still didn't know what to do, and the male watched. He knew his mate would kill the Carcharodontosaurus soon enough without help. She was pissed off, her claws were deep in the flesh of his flanks, and she was out of reach, tearing at the same spot over and over. The Carcharodontosaurus saw tact the end was near, any he tried a last ditch effort to get the female off him. He crouched to the ground, and the female quickly realized what he was going to try. She jerked her claws out as fast as she could and jumped off, and the Carcharodontosaurus rolled onto his side.
The female looked at him, ready for the kill. The Carcharodontosaurus rolled over and tried to stand, but he quickly realized his mistake. In the desperation and the intensity of the battle, he forgot about his missing arms. The alpha female charged at him and jumped. She landed on his spine, broke it, and then turned and started ripping it to pieces. The Carcharodontosaurus roared in pain, but it was abruptly cut off as the female yanked a foot long section of his spine out.
The alpha male and their daughter walked over and ripped the Carcharodontosaurus open and began eating. When they realized the alpha female wasn't there, they looked for her. She was standing over their son. The alpha male walked over to her, and she looked at him. Their son's ribs were crushed, his lower jaw hung loosely, his spine was severed and exposed, and his breathing was shallow. They both knew this meant a slow, painful death for their son. The female looked at the male, and he closed his eyes and lowered his head. The female took a deep breath and lowered her head. She bit his neck, quickly snapping it, killing their son.
The female looked at the battleground. Both their sons were dead, their daughter was wounded, and she wasn't hurt at all other than a few small cuts. She lied down and closed her eyes. Her mate lied down next to her and put his head on hers. She was used to losing family members. When she was young, she lost her parents. Her and her siblings formed a small pack, an army of four they were seen as, but they were killed while they were sub adults. She had gotten over those loses on her own, but two of her kids in less than hour was too much for her. Her mate was there for her, but it was still going to be difficult for her to get over.
Their daughter couldn't believe it. She knew her brother was screwed and that her mother did him a favour, but it was her actions afterward that got to her. She always thought their mother had a heart of stone and that she only cared about herself. She thought the biting was for her enjoyment. Now however, she realized it was her way of saying not to do something again. Her brothers were rarely bitten, and now they're dead. It was for their own good, and it took her years to realize it.
Winner........ Albertosaurus
More agile, strength in numbers, the death of both sons sealed the Carcharodontosaurus's fate.

MemberTriceratopsJun-24-2014 12:52 PMPersonally, I believe this was your best fight ever written. Not because of what genera of dinosaurs were involved, or the battle choreography. It was because of the underlying background story of the Albertosaurs' family dynamic, and the poignant description of a mother losing two children. The mother cared so much for her daughter, and had so much faith in her, because she saw something of promise in her eldest. And yet, to help her realize the potential she had, the mother was the toughest on her. That is sacrifice that can only be realized by the child with time and maturity.

Keep in mind that many people have died for their beliefs; it's actually quite common. The real courage is in living and suffering for what you believe in. -Brom-
