Carnosaur
MemberCompsognathusJun-13-2014 9:41 AMfound something interesting last night while looking around the internet...it seems australia has a new large predator. The discovery goes a couple years or so back...and the theropod has no scientific name as of yet.
It seemingly is a relative to Megaraptor, larger than Australovenator and described by a paleontologist as "a ripper of a dinosaur", which used its enormous claws to "catch and slash" at its prey.
Now if this hand isn't impressive I don´t know what is. Just look at the size of that hand and the claw!
It vaguely resembles an allosaurs hand. if it was similar to allosaurs it was certainly huge, and considering the 16 meter sauropods, the 10 meter iguanodontids....this thing may have been the apex predator of the area.
You guys have any more info on this thing?

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJun-13-2014 12:19 PMCARNOSAUR - That is an incredibly compelling find! Unfortunately, I've no further information to add with regards to this fascinating animal. However, I will certainly be nosing about the web to find more in the coming days! Thank you ever so much for sharing this with us! :)

MemberCompsognathusJun-13-2014 1:25 PMTo me that seems more like a Spinosaurid. That hand is as far as I can see, identical to Suchomimus.
Keep in mind that many people have died for their beliefs; it's actually quite common. The real courage is in living and suffering for what you believe in. -Brom-

MemberCompsognathusJun-13-2014 7:29 PMNice article Carnosaur, thanks. I agree with UCMP, it looks remarkably like a spinosaur hand.
Youre fat, and I'm not sugarcoating it cause you'd probably eat that too.

MemberCompsognathusJun-13-2014 11:46 PMi thought that as well UCMP....only time will tell i guess guys. I'm not finding a whole lot on it, although it apparently shares a common morphology with Australovenator.

MemberCompsognathusJun-14-2014 11:16 AMFrom what I know the Ridge Ripper was about 9-10 meters long and 2-3 tons or so. Very similar in overall build and anatomy to Megaraptor or Australovenator. I found this artist rendition of the animal...
As far as the fossil goes, I think it looks allosaurian...
