Now then, before the battle begins, let me say I was trying to come up with something that doesn't involve a Tyrannosaur, but I had this badass idea. Tell me what you think.
Tyrannosaurus Rex
The individual in this fight is an eight ton male. He is the last of his kind, hungry, and willing to do almost anything to survive.
Triceratops
The individual in this fight is a six ton male. He is, much like his opponent, the last of his kind, hungry, and willing to do almost anything to survive.
Begin!
North America, 65 million years ago. The Tyrannosaurus is following a scent trail. It's the first sign of life he's sensed since his mate died a week earlier. He had left without touching the body, his respect for his mate of ten years being too strong for the will to survive to make him eat her.
The Triceratops is eating a bush. It's the first meal he's had in weeks, and ate it with three quick bites. There hadn't been much, but it was something. The majority of his herd was lost to fire, while some were lost in a flood, and the rest were too weak, injured, or starved. Being the alpha male, he was the largest, toughest, and strongest member of the herd, but now, he was on the verge of death.
The Tyrannosaurus walked up a hill, and he saw the Triceratops. It was almost skin and bone, but it would last him a few days. He walked behind it, slowly, and quietly because there was no cover to ambush him. He was almost there when his stomach growled. The Triceratops turned around, and the Tyrannosaur was drooling, teeth flashed, eyes focused on him, ready for a fight. The Tyrannosaur was also skin and bone, his individual ribs showing through his thick hide.
These two knew each other well. The Tyrannosaurus was relentless in his day. The Triceratops herd had lost an average of twenty members a year to this Tyrannosaurus alone. He was experienced, and he had the scars to show it. On the left side of his chest, was a scratch from the base of his arm to his hips almost. That was obtained early in his life, during one of his first battles, while another, less obvious scar, was one where a Triceratops brow nose horn went through his lower jaw. That scar was obtained during their first battle. The rest of the scars were minor scratches that barley bled when they were obtained.
The Triceratops was almost as relentless as the Tyrannosaurus was. He was missing part of his frill, dead centre between the horns, as well as three scratch marks where the Tyrannosaur had placed his foot on his face as he ripped the chunk of frill off. The Triceratops had a few bite marks on his tail, all of which were obtained from other Tyrannosaurs. He had fought them off, and another noticeable scar was on his side.
Both remembered exactly how that scar was obtained. It was their first battle. Both were young and inexperienced. The battle had lasted for hours, and the Tyrannosaur managed to bite his side. The Triceratops had struggled free, shredding his side, but ripping all the teeth right out the Tyrannosaur's jaws.
They roared at each other. They looked around for a moment, nothing. They were used to birds and small dinosaurs scattering as they roared, but this was not the case. They roared again, and the Tyrannosaur circled the Triceratops. The Triceratops charged, and the Tyrannosaur sidestepped. He bite the Triceratops' back and tried to crush his spine. The Triceratops struggled free. They both shook their heads. Back in their prime, the Triceratops wouldn't have made that mistake, and the Tyrannosaur would have finished him right there.
The Tyrannosaur took his turn to charge, and he sidestepped last second and shoved the Triceratops. The Triceratops slid to the side, closer to the nearby cliff they were at the base of, and then charged again. He missed, and the Tyrannosaurus bit him. He wasn't about to let go, and the Triceratops struggled to free himself. He managed to push the Tyrannosaurus into the cliff side, and he let go.
They looked each other dead in the eye and charged. They hit head on, and they were still looking each other in the eye. The Tyrannosaur had his head between the Triceratops' horns, and they were stuck in a stalemate. Neither was budging, and they roared. Neither reacted, but some rocks gave way and were followed by more. A rockslide hit them both, killing both in seconds, not even the rockslide drowning out their final roars.
Isla Sorna, present day.
A Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops are fighting in a clearing. Both are new to fighting a member of the other species, and they are in a stalemate.
With his head between the Triceratops' horns, the Tyrannosaurus's eyes are mere inches from his opponent's, he can smell his breath, hear his breathing, and fell his opponent shaking. The Triceratops' strength suddenly gave out, and the Tyrannosaurus pushed him about a hundred yards away. The Triceratops jerked his head up, thrusting his nose horn through the Tyrannosaur's lower jaw.
The Tyrannosaur jumped back and roared in pain. The Triceratops' horn dripped with blood, and he roared at the Tyrannosaurus. The Tyrannosaurus roared back and charged. The Triceratops didn't expect it, and the Tyrannosaurus put a foot between his horns, bit his frill and pulled. The chunk of frill was pulled off with a loud crack, and the Triceratops lunged forward. His left horn hit the Tyrannosaurus by his arm and scraped almost to his hips. Blood poured out the wound, and the Tyrannosaurus roared.
Both were in extreme pain, and neither was making a move. They were waiting for the other to leave. Neither did, and the Tyrannosaurus attacked again. He bit the Triceratops' back and started pushing. The Triceratops fought back, and they hit a tree. The tree fell, just nicking both of their heads. They were unconscious, and they were facing opposite directions.
They both woke up about a week later. Since they were facing opposite directions, they walked away once they stood up, having forgotten why they were there.
Winner...... Draw
Let's see how many clue in on why it was draw.

MemberCompsognathusJun-08-2014 1:08 PMNice fight. Not sure why it was a draw though. I bet it was the same Rex and Trike(their dna at least).
The part that took place 65 million years ago reminds me of The Last Day of the Dinosaurs fight.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJun-08-2014 1:25 PMMR.HAPPY9097 - That was fantastic! A very much enjoyed the past history the animals shared! Was that an allusion to the Jurassic Park video game? Regardless, I had a great time reading this, and I certainly don;t mind T-Rex showing up. ;) Thank you so much for sharing this with us! :)

MemberTriceratopsJun-08-2014 1:27 PMNow that was a badass idea! A reincarnated fight between two mortal enemies, with the exact same injuries occuring! Wow!

MemberCompsognathusJun-08-2014 1:27 PMThis was awesome. It's a great concept.
Keep in mind that many people have died for their beliefs; it's actually quite common. The real courage is in living and suffering for what you believe in. -Brom-

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJun-08-2014 4:05 PMI could do that. Just give me a week or two. When I saw that, I started having ideas. Hell, I'll get started now and finish it up later, post it in a few days.
I'll take it this format was a success, ending the battle in prehistoric times in a draw, and then picking it up exactly where it was left off. I'll keep that (and similar ideas) in mind.

MemberCompsognathusJun-08-2014 10:00 PMmaybe because both died in the first fight, and neither did in the second? just my thought....good fight as usual

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJun-09-2014 3:05 AMI was going more for the beginning and end of a rivalry. Look at the injuries the Tyrannosaur had in the first bit, and the ones obtained in the second.
Thanks guys, it was fun writing it.
