The " Horned Lizard"
Length: 8.5 meters
Weight: 1.5 tons
Height: 2.25 meters
Era: Mid Jurassic
Ceratosaurs are like the modern honey badger. Quite ferocious, and will attack anything, even if it much larger. They live primarily on isla nublar, where they hunt stegosaurs and small hadrosaurs. They must constantl'sy fight to keep their kills. Torvosaurus and Giganotosaurus are its main rivals, and ceratosaurs have learned how to fight these much larger opponents. Their population isn't very large, and because of this they must pick and choose their battles. Ceratosaurs are green with red vertical stripes down the body, their horns - which give them their name- are brown in color.
Albertosaurus
The " Alberta Lizard"
Length: 8 meters
Weight: 2.5 tons
Height: 2.5 meterse
Albertosaurs are pack animals. Unlike other tyrannosaurs, which hunt in packs of 4 or 5, Albertosaurus has been observed in huge packs of 20 plus members.Young males are solitary animals, until they can form packs of their own. They use their overwhelming numbers to take down large and difficult prey. They have been observed attacking Diplodocus, though the outcome wasn't seen. Albertosaurs can co-exist with other tyrannosaurs for short periods, but aggression pays a factor in who ends up having to leave. Albertosaurus is dark brown with orange crossbars on the chest, they also have a large yellow dewlap.
Here we go..
The Allosaurus roared triumphantly down at the Ceratosaurus, gnashing his teeth visciously. He stamped his feet before charging the Ceratosaur, ramming into its flank. The theropod was knocked clear off its feet, falling hard to the mossy ground of the clearing. The Allosaurus bellowed into the mid day sky, letting the ceratosaurus and all around that this was now his territory. The Ceratosaurus got to her feet, and stared at the animal who had just taken her home. The Allosaur lurched forward, slamming his impressive jaws shut with suprising ferocity.
The Horned lizard turned and walked away, her breath coming at great difficulty now. Her lower two ribs had splintered, breathing was excruciatingly painful.
She trekked for two miles, before she came to a small stream. Pterosaurs of varying shapes flocked the riverbanks, bending their elegant beaks to the waters surface. Nearby, a herd of Dryosaurus ran in wheeling circles, their calls echoing around the river basin.
The Pterosaurs took to the sky as the Ceratosaurus approached, all for two. The little animals struggled helplessly against the muddy riverbank, glued to the scene to their extreme terror.
Without a second thought, the Ceratosaurus lunged forward and bit through the skull of the larger pterosaur. She swallowed it with ease.
The other had freed itself, and took to the sky shrieking in fear. The Ceratosaur eyed the bizarre little creature, but as she did, a large shape was coming into focus.
She Dropped her gaze, her eyes locked on a fully mature male Albertosaurus. The impressively large creature bent its neck lazily to the water, she could hear its snorting breathes from across the river.
That's when it noticed her; snapping its neck up from the waters surface and intently looking at the Ceratosaurus. He roared menacingly in her direction, yet he couldn't cross the river at this point. He walked south, keeping his eye on the Ceratosaurus.
The Adrenaline from the brawl she had with the allosaur was boiling under the surface. She followed the Tyrannosaur, growling in frustration.
The Albertosaurus found a shallow part of the river, and startedd crossing. His thunderous footsteps were made even louder with the sloshing of the water. The Ceratosaurus planted her feet in the mud, rising to her full height in an attempt to make herself larger. The Tyrannosaur had one foot planted into the mud, and brought the other down. When he did this, his misstepped, rolling his ankle joint on the slippery rocks surrounding the river. He went down with a wet smacking noise.
The Ceratosaurus didn't hesitate, diving forward with her jaws poised to deliver a fatal blow. The Albertosaurus jerked his head to the side in an attempt to avoid the lethal looking jaws, but he was too slow. Her jaws locked around the top of his head, dangerously close to the eyes. The Tyrannosaur thrashed around in his prone position, yet was unable to shake the grip. The Ceratosaurus bit down as hard as she could, shattering her long teeth. They lay imbedded in the Tyrannosaurs skull.
Blood streamed from the wound, getting into the right eye of the Albertosaurus. As he bellowed in pain and anger, the Ceratosaurus was backing off. Her upper jaw was radiating with pain. She shook her head back in forth, yet the pain remained.
The Tyrannosaur freed himself from the mud and advanced on the intruder. He charged her head on, slamming into her like a run away freight train. He pounched on the downed animal, biting for her throat. She thwarted the attack, swatting viciously at the Tyrannosaurs jaws. Blood was flowing freely from the many lacerations the Ceratosaurus had managed to score, yet the Albertosaurus kept with his attack.
The Ceratosaurus thrashed her legs, scoring a blow to the Tyrannosaurs underside. The impact jolted the tyrant, lifting him off the ground for a split second. The Ceratosaurus pushed upwards, and the Albertosaurus fell to the side. Within a second, the Ceratosaurus was on her feet. She stomped down on the Albertosaurus side, roaring at the Tyrannosaur in rage. Bursts of pain radiated through her ribs and snout, yet she paid it no attention. She stomped once more, and walked away. After around twenty yards, she turned to see the Tyrannosaur still laying in the mud, breathing heavy.
Indifferent, she turned and walked away. The memory of the confrontation with the allosaurus now fresh on her mind. The shrieking of the Pterosaurs resumed shortly after.
And the winner is...Ceratosaurus!
