Smaug The Magnificent
MemberCompsognathusMay-28-2014 2:00 AMMy first one was a bit of a lazy cop-out, so I made this one a bit better.
Gorgonopsid.
"Gorgon arch"
Length: to lazy to find actual size so let's say about the size of a rhino.
Weapons: sabre teeth, extreme strength, great speed.
Defence: none
Notes: The Gorgonopsid was one of the greatest super predators of all time, matched only by the mighty dinosaurs. Gorgo(as I will call him for now on) has extreme amounts of strength, able to even lift cars into the air(as seen in primeval ep. 1 season 1) not to mention their top speed of around 50mph combined with his persistency make this beast in to a train of an animal.
Up sides: Large teeth, fast in a straight line, Supreme strength, much better control of body temperature than most norther creatures on the island.
Down sides: Reckless, not very agile, drawn to blood, rather small.
Summary: I can see multiple breeding pairs being around the island and keeping a balanced population. However, these things a reckless, really really reckless, and being drawn to blood means that these buggers could easily get caught in a ambush.
To be honest, I'm way to lazy to keep this going.
I give the great Gorgon Arch a 60% chance of survival of a species.

MemberCompsognathusMay-28-2014 4:08 AMthis thing was huge, i could see it coexisting with the other animals on the island. Good job

MemberCompsognathusMay-28-2014 1:30 PMThe largest gorgonopsid was Inostrancevia. It was about 11 ft long and would have weighed a good 500-800 pounds or so. Figured I'd give you the size of the largest species since you didn't want to find it :)

MemberCompsognathusMay-28-2014 3:01 PMIt not that I didn't want to find the size, it's the fact that when I google Gorgonopsid, all i can bloody find is wrath of the titans and final fantasy.

MemberCompsognathusMay-28-2014 3:52 PMThat's OK. Future reference, don't google Gorgonopsid. That's too general(it's the family name). Usually you'll want the more specific species called Inostrancevia(the species seen in Walking With Monsters, Primeval, Dinosaur Revolution, etc).

MemberCompsognathusMay-28-2014 11:14 PMAndrewsarchus would woop gorgon's butt any day.
BOOM!
Youre fat, and I'm not sugarcoating it cause you'd probably eat that too.

MemberCompsognathusSep-14-2015 2:06 PMI think Inostrancevia had stronger jaws and was faster than Andrewsarchus. Yeah, it was 4 m long and Andrewsarchus was 5 m but...I don't think Andrewsarchus could have a chance
