Carnosaur
MemberCompsognathusMay-20-2014 5:15 PMSome newcomers that have been found are buzzing around the Paleontological world.
The first, Zby Atlanticus, was a giant that had already been dug up. At first, Scientists classified it as a known species...Turiasaurus Riodevensis. Upon further inspection, several anotomical differences were enough for the reclassicifaction of this behemoth, albeit still in the same family as Turiasaurus. It is known solely from its holotype, a closely associated partial skeleton including a tooth, a fragment of cervical neural arch, an anterior chevron, an almost complete right pectoral girdle, and various parts of a leg.
The enormous new animal is believed to have grown to over 62 feet long, and tipped the scales at 40 or so tons. A true giant..
Onto the recent find in argentina, it now has a scientific name - Leinkupal laticauda. What that name means, i have not the slightest clue. But it's a contender for largest dinosaur to ever live, even overshadowing Argentinosaurus, the current record holder. Though a size range hasn't been set, the bones are truly massive.
It’s believed to be the first diplodocid from South America, according to Pablo Gallina and colleagues from the Universidad Maimónides and Museo E. Bachmann in Argentina. Previously it was thought that this group of dinosaurs, which lived throughout the world from the Americas to Africa, died out at the end of the Jurassic. Now we know that wasn’t the case.

MemberCompsognathusMay-20-2014 5:42 PMFunny thing, a while ago I Did a dino question that asked what dinosaur was not a true one. Everyone said Zby but it wasn't. Only 2 people got it right. I think it was Somthing Real and UCMP 118742. Now that I think about it. You gave me an idea for a daily dino question.
anyway cool post interested to learn more!
When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Tell life I don't want you're damn lemons, and then squeeze them into life's eyes!

MemberCompsognathusMay-21-2014 7:42 AMVery good information on Zby, but from what I've looked at so far, I think it sems more likely for Patagotitan (I'm not going to call it Leinkupal, your name is bad and you should feel bad, scientists) to be a titanosaur. But that's just my opinion.
Keep in mind that many people have died for their beliefs; it's actually quite common. The real courage is in living and suffering for what you believe in. -Brom-
