Carnosaur

The last few days had flown by like minutes. The female Albertosaurus got lazily up from under her favorite palm front, and stood on the pristine white beach. She looked up and down the sand, the herbivores were plentiful.
The sauropods had just gone through hatching season; myriads of small long necked animals were trotting around the feet of the enormous adults. Keeping one eye on the youngsters, she walked to the waters edge. She walked in, ridding herself of countless days of dust, soot, and ash.
The bite wounds she had endured had closed up, but her arm was horribly mangled. She couldn't really move it anymore. That was alright, she really had no use for the tiny appendage. She lay in the freezing water now, rolling on herside yet careful not to submerge her neck and head. The tiny predators would surely take advantage of that situation.
Sure enough, a small band of Troodon were lined up in front of the trees. They're incessant squaking annoyted the titan tyrant. She got to her feet in the water, sitting in a crouching position. She bared her teeth; her memories were filled with these pestulant nest raiders.
She sprang up, water streaming off her scaly skin. Her footfalls echoed off of the collapsing sand.
The Troodon flock had not seen this coming, but they took off.
One hapless animal tripped over a gnarled tree root protruding from the pearly white sand. It attempted to stand and run, but its foot was broken. It was too late any way.
The female Albertosaurus grabbed the troodon by the tail, hoisting it into the air. She jerked her neck up, then violently back down. The animal was silent now, but she was far from finished. With a swift stroke of the foot, she disembowled the Troodon. It's intestines fell from the stomach cavity like coils of fat snakes.
She dragged the corpse along the beach, leaving an ugly streak of red on the pure white sand stretches. She left the carcass out in the open. It would serve as a reminder this was her territory, and she would rule with an iron fist.
Nature doesn't deceive us; it is we who deceive ourselves.
