MemberTyrannosaurus RexMay-06-2014 2:55 PMHere's my entry for Paden's writer challenge.
I woke up to thunder. It was raining for the first time in weeks. I liked the rain. It gave me a chance to walk around without being watched every step of the way. It always felt weird for me, being watched by the inferior life forms that once made an easy snack. Now, they laugh and point and use annoying devices that flash. With the rain, it was silent, the way I liked things.
I don't like the confinement. It's boring and repetitive. Every time I wake up, these annoying two legged creatures of varying shapes and colours start watching me. I looked up at a sign. It had the numbers 2 and 4 on it. I don't know what it means, but last time I was awake, it had 2 and 0 on it.
"And if you look to the left, you will see a Tyrannosaurus Rex, the most powerful predator on the island."
I looked at the source. It was those damn two legged things. Today, I wasn't going to back off. Today, I was going to show them who still owns this place. I saw several of the smaller ones walk right up to me.
"Stupid fools." I thought. Letting the young ones so close to me angered me. "They think they're so great, with their yellow covers and flashing lights and annoying sounds that the little ones made." I walked closer, and the small ones backed away. "If you think that's scary, I'll give you something else to be scared of," I thought as I roared.
I watched as the little ones went to the bigger ones. I flashed my teeth and growled. I was about to roar again when I heard something. I turned around, and I saw a meal.
"It's feeding time. The Tyrannosaur likes to chase his prey, unlike some of the other carnivores that are happy with it being chained to a post."
I walked towards it, and it started running. I ran after it, and quickly caught up. I bit its neck and looked at my kill. I picked it up and walked towards the people. They all watched. I ripped it apart and then threw pieces around. Most of them left, but a few stayed, and another person arrived. I didn't know what they were talking about, and I didn't care either.
"That's the third time this damn thing has done that!" "We haven't trained him yet. We've only had him for a month." " You'd think that knocking him out for four days would teach him a lesson." "Remember, that thing was brought from Sorna, it was free to do whatever it wished, and now, it's in an invisible prison, forced to a small area."
Whatever they were talking about bored me, so I ate my meal and then took a walk. I found something after a while. It was out of view from the humans, so I started hitting it. It broke after a few hits, and a hole appeared. I didn't fit, but I kept hitting it, and then I could get out.
This is just one day, and I chose to make it an interesting day.

Keep in mind that many people have died for their beliefs; it's actually quite common. The real courage is in living and suffering for what you believe in. -Brom-
