Carnosaur

* Placing on this list has no meaning
7. Pacheycephalosaurs
Name meaning: dome headed lizard
True to their name, species of this group have built in battering rams atop their heads. Whether these were used for ritualistic displays, or just for pure intimidation is still being debated.
6. Sauropods
Name meaning: Lizard footed
The sauropod family includes the largest terrestrial vertebrates that ever existed -- giant, lumbering beasts weighing tens or even hundreds of tons. They would make an elephant look tiny, and put a Giraffes neck to shame!
5. Dromaeosaurs
Name meaning: Swift running lizards
Ever seen Alfred Hitchockc's The birds? Well, if these forerunner to birds were in that movie, it would have been even more graphic and terrifying. The Dromaeosaurs were medium sized predators, with long arms tipped with minature meat hooks. To top that off, they had large sickle shaped claws on the legs, perfect for disembowling their prey. To make matters even worse, they - with the exception of a few - hunted in packs. Dromaeosaurs were a force to be reckoned with.
4. Oviraptorids
Name Meaning: Egg thieves
These odd creatures had feathers researchers say were used for mating displays, similar to modern-day peacocks and turkeys. Its name means "egg plunderer," because it was first discovered in the 1920s near eggs from another species.Scientists now believe, however, that this dino was protecting the eggs instead of stealing them.
3. Tyrannosaurs
Name meaning: Tyrant lizards
Some of the most iconic animals to ever walk the earth are in the group. Specifically, the 43 foot long, 8 ton monster known as Tyrannosaurus Rex. This group does feature some equally terrifying animals, however. The fleet footed Gorgosaurus sprinted down ornithomimids in its native home, while the brute Daspletosaurus tackled the Ceratopsians. The family is characterized by the tiny, two fingered arms. For being as small as they are, the larger species could lift 400 or so pounds with them.
2.Abelisaurs
Name meaning: Abel's Lizards
If you thought the arms of the Tyrannosaurs were bad, wait until you catch a glimpse at these arms! They are vestigial in some representatives of this family, with some large species having barely functioning arms. The theory goes that the Abelisaurs evolved to use more bite, and less of their arms. The forelimbs became smaller as the head grew larger.
1.Ceratopsians
Name meaning: Horned face
These bizarre animals had an array of spikes and bumps. The typical ceratopsian had at least one horn and a bumpy shield around his neck. The most notable representative of this family is Triceratops, a three horned behemoth that occasionally sparred with Tyrannosaurus Rex. Ceratopsians used their impressive head gear to show dominance, say researchers, or to attract mates.

Sail backed, long snouted, and long armed(strange to most other large theropods), these guys are a bit strange in some ways.
Hadrosaurs
With their duck bills, crazy crests, and thousands of teeth, hadrosaurs were not exactly "everyday animals."
Stegosaurs, ankylosaurs, ceratosaurs, and other groups probably belong up there too, but at that point we'd be including every dinosaur group known to man.

MemberCompsognathusApr-28-2014 1:18 PMGood list, I agree on next to everything.
Keep in mind that many people have died for their beliefs; it's actually quite common. The real courage is in living and suffering for what you believe in. -Brom-
