MemberCompsognathusApr-27-2014 12:08 PMWhen I hear the word “scary new dinosaur" I have a feeling that it will not be a normal dinosaur. Sometimes I think that it will be a mutated dinosaur or a dinosaur hybrid. (Think chaos effect). We'll what do you think guys?

MemberTyrannosaurus RexApr-27-2014 12:46 PMI read somewhere that it was stated that the new dinosaur was created for entertainment, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was a not real dinosaur.

MemberCompsognathusApr-27-2014 3:09 PMI believe that the new dinosaur wont be a made up dinosaur, but a genetically modified dinosaur. The Patel Corperation may enhance the abilities of the dinosaur such as speed, aggression or may even produce amazing visual attributes such as colourful markings and patterns. Its interesting though, I really want to know what he is.

MemberCompsognathusApr-27-2014 3:37 PMit might be a regular dinosaur it just might be insane

MemberAllosaurusApr-27-2014 3:44 PMI agree with @JordanThomas on this one. If it DOES turn out to be a mutant, cross-bred dinosaur (highly unlikely), the characters are all dead.

MemberAllosaurusApr-27-2014 5:03 PMIt could just be another prehistpric creature that coexisted with the dinosaurs.

MemberCompsognathusApr-27-2014 5:06 PM*finally, Someone who knows the Chaos effect series!*
I doubt it will be a hybrid... But there is a chance. Y'see, The chaos effect series, Was meant to be a TV Series, It got scrapped really early... Theres a chance that they may start a TV series to JW, (Much like CHAOS EFFECT) But we don't know...
Genetic Mutation... is the problem, Not hybrids, *Colin did say, that they weren't idiots, That there would be a reason to go back to the island, Other then "Kid lost"*
y'see, Genetics isn't Perfect... Its messy, Problems arise, Nothing comes out as you think it would... (Cloning horses today, Isn't even the same, There is a very VERY Slim chance of ever getting anything Identical...)
Genetic Mutation is the real concern here... DX Was a disease that came from Inproper feeding of Dinos on Site B... I assume another disease/Defect, may caust a genetic mutation...
Or just a normal Genetic mutation... *Raptor With Night vision, Dwarf Rex, ETC, (Those were both really bad examples, But they were the coolest)*

MemberCompsognathusApr-28-2014 6:49 AMI align with a lot of these possibilities.
I would not put it past the people dumb enough to re-create the failed Jurassic Park to also genetically enhance the dinosaurs to create whatever theme park monsters they wish.
Especially with Henry Wu (presumably) back at the helm. He was a mad scientist who constantly wanted to play god in more extreme ways, not seeing any reason to accept whatever grew out of the the first batch of eggs as "good enough dinosaurs". The novel really expanded on his character in this way, but the subtleties in TLW and JP3 movies confirmed that (movie)Wu and Ingen were following the same dark path as outlined in the novels.
Imagine if they are stupid enough to breed a Utahraptor...and Speilbergize it a bit....making it near Spinosaurus size.
A 'hybrid' would be a little too sci-fi, and may insult the fans a bit. But an "intentionally enhanced" version of a common dinosaur strikes me as almost definite.

MemberCompsognathusApr-28-2014 11:26 AMThinking back to JP3:
Billy: I don't remember seeing [Spinosaurus] on their list
Grant: That's because it wasn't. Makes me wonder what else [Ingen] was up to
That small exchange is a big enough hint to suggest that Dr. Wu really could have been toying around with genetics. Just imagine if someone gave him a blank check sometime in the last 22 years to work with for the new park. He must have been given some kind of scientific liberty.
Now imagine a Troodon/Utahraptor hybrd.

MemberCompsognathusApr-28-2014 11:44 AMUmm, yes great thinking but a hybrid is highly unlikely! A genitically enhanced species however, is very possible indeed! Maybe an enhanced species of allosaurus that is say.....larger, faster, far more intelligent, is venomous etc. etc.

MemberCompsognathusApr-28-2014 2:20 PMIt would be fantastic if the new dinosaur was something like an Acrocanthosaurus or an Allosaurus that was genetically modified to have something like a larger skull along with longer arms and extreme aggression and maybe even the ability to swim. I'm sure this would make the dinosaur more 'entertaining' to the visitors.

MemberCompsognathusApr-28-2014 5:15 PMIt is very possible that the new dinosaur could be a hybrid, after all the raptors we have all come to know and love being scaried of were in fact hybrids between Velociraptor mongoliensis and Deinonychus antirrhopus, which is why they were distinctively different from either species and were called Velociraptor "antirrhopus" with nublarensis and sornaensis added to help Ingen distinguish the two subspecies. The hybrid theory might also involve modern species for as we all know Ingen used frog D.N.A. to fill in the gaps in the genetic sequences and potentially used other species, like the Australian Frill-necked lizard and spitting cobras, as in the case with the "frilled and venom spitting" dilophosaurus. Also a genetic mutation is quite possible expecially when trying to clone something from at least 65 million year old, incomplete D.N.A. Still nature needs no help when creating terrifying creatures and it would be interesting to see if this is infact a normal, but equally dangerous, newly cloned and/or discovered species. And we can't forget the creatures on Ingens list that we never saw or the ones that weren't on the list like Spinosaurus aegyptiacus opening up a whole range of possibilities for this new dino.

MemberCompsognathusApr-29-2014 7:36 AMAs long as its not something ridiculous like like a Tyrannoraptortops.
T-rex sized Velociraptor with Triceratops horns.
Kidding aside, this director knows what he's doing and would never deliver something so ridiculous.
