Nanuqsaurus
Length: 8 meters
Weight: 1 ton
Height: 1.7 meters
Era: Early Cretacious
Nanuqsaurus is a peculiar little animal. Genetic testing showed that these tyrannosaurs are most closely related to Albertosaurus, yet behave like the larger Tyrannosaurs. They actively seek out other theropod kills, and challenge the animal for it. They are hyper aggresive predators. Though with their dimunitive size, they rarely come out on top. Nanuqsaurus is covered in a pale purple covering of feathers, which are thicker around the arms, tail tip, and neck.
Nanotyrannus
Length: 7meters
Weight: . 5 tons
Height: 1.7 meters
Era: Late Cretacious
A true road runner from hell. The long, muscular legs of Nanotyrannus allow it to hunt down it's main prey source: ornithomimids. They have taken a liking to eating other predators, especially other Tyrannosaurs. Nanotyrannus lives near the interior of Isla Nublar, where most of the large predators thrive. The pygmy tyrant thrives due to the fact it chases the prey animals the bigger theropods ignore completely. Nanotyrannus Is a dark orange color, with intermitent white circles on the abdomen and chest.
And...Begin..
The cold sweat sensation traveled down the Nanuqsaurus' spine. He was being stalked. From the forest, guttural growls echoed from the lush foliage. The animal was elusive, and the Polar bear lizard could only see the sihlouette.
The animal was smaller then himself, but was still a threat. Any carnivore was a threat.
On alert, the Nanuqsaurus walked down a winding hill. The gentle slopes held dangerously large, jagged rocks just below the grass. The polar tyrant did his best to avoid these.
He stopped occasionally, and he could hear the footfalls behind him stop seconds after.
The sun was high in the sky, and the fact the Nanuqsaurus couldn't see his stalker unnerved him greatly. He turned and faced the treeline, roaring in a mixture of fear and annoyance. All was still. No sound was to be heard for the entirety of 30 seconds
Then, the Nanotyrannus emerged from the foliage cover. The look in the large blue eyes was one of crazed hunger. The Pygmy tyrant boldy strode forward, eyes locked with the Nanuqsaurus'.
The polar tyrant took a few tentative steps back, giving the mixed roar once more. The Nanotyrannus kept coming. It lunged, jaws agape.
The nanuqsaurus dove to the side as the Pygmy tyrants jaws snapped shut on air.
He turned his body in a defensive gesture, stomping the ground repeatedly.
The Nanotyrannus wasn't amused. With an indifferent snort, he charged again.
The Polar Tyrants Stiff tail connected with the smaller tyrannosaurs snout, sending him stumbling off into the grass. The thudding footsteps caused the Dryosaurus family to jump up and run, this caught the Nanotyrannus' attention. He took off after the ornithopods, forgetting all about his potential Tyrannosaur dinner.
The Nanuqsaurus turned and walked the way he came, his brain had yet to fully comprehend what had just occured..
Winner...Nanuqsaurus!
A little bit of luck goes a long way.

MemberAllosaurusApr-21-2014 9:36 PMGood fight.
Didn't Jack Horner say that Nanotyrannus was just a teenage version of T-Rex, though?
IT'S TIME TO DU-DU-DU-DU-DUEL!!!

MemberCompsognathusApr-21-2014 9:55 PMyes, he did.
However, many of his studies have been discredited (i.e. Rex was primarily a scavenger)
There is an abundance of evidence pointing to Nanotyrannus being its own species

Keep in mind that many people have died for their beliefs; it's actually quite common. The real courage is in living and suffering for what you believe in. -Brom-

As far as Nano-T beinga young T.rex, it's unlikely.
