Length: 3 meters
Weight: 500 lbs
Height: 1.8 meters
Era: Jurassic
Like its close relative Dilophosaurus, Lophosatropheus is a solitary hunter. It preys mostly on smaller theropods, but the species seems to like the stegosaurs more then anything else. They kill with their lethal hand claws, inflicting deep gashes then retreating to let the prey item die from blood loss. The jaws of lophostropheus are weakly built, and if enough pressure is applied, teeth will shatter. Lophostropheus is a light brown color with a muddy brown back and flank.

Length: 3.25 meters
Weight: 500 lbs
Height: 1.4 meters
Era: Mid Jurassic
Proceratosaurus is a specialized ornithopod hunter. However, It is limited by it's rather small size. They take down ornithopods, such as Iguanodon, with a bite to the neck, and then evicerating the helpless animal. The tactic is brutal, but very effective. Proceratosaurus has also been seen to take small mammals, reptiles, pterosaurs, and even the odd egg. They are diurnal by nature, but can be active during the night. Proceratosaurus has dark red saddles and a tan underbelly.
And...Begin..
The egg hit the rocks with a sickening splatter. The pink Sauropod embryo came tumbling out, resting less then a foot from the shattered egg shell. The Sub adult Proceratosaurus swiftly bent down and swallowed the Sauropodlet. She had come across a valley of These sauropod nests, but she wasn't the only predator in the area. Tens of others scattered the valley feasting on the annual banquet.
The Sauropods of unknown species had abandoned the nesting valley, leaving their clutches to fate. Unevitably, predators showed up. The feast was theirs for the taking. The Proceratosaurus went back to the nest, grabbing an egg, and smashed it on the rocks once more. She found this easier then just eating the egg whole. Too much shell.
She repeated this four more times, before the Afternoon heat was starting to get to her. She rested under a shady oak tree, and looked over the valley.
Not too far away, an allosaurus burst from the tree line. Not towards her feast, but that of a Nanotyrannus. The Tyrannosaur jumped and faced the larger animal, stamping its feet and roaring up a storm. The Allosaurus wasn't impressed. The two predators walked circles around each other, occasionally one mock charging; the other jumping back.
That changed in an instant.
The Allosaurus lunged forward with suprising agility, and tore the Tyrannosaurs throat out. The pygmy tyrant slumped to the ground, and the Allosaurus left the vicinity. He had forgotten all about the nest he was after.
The Compsognathus were on the carcass in an instant, a feast of their own. Unsettled by the sight, the Proceratosaurus turned away. Her stomach was getting empty again.
A few hours go by, and the Proceratosaurus has eaten most of the nests. This seems to be the case for other nests, as most of the small predators had left the area. The sun was starting to set over the beautiiful purple mountains.
The Sub adult proceratosaurus was bending down to take another egg, when a loud roar caught her off guard. Through the trees, she could see a mid sized animal moving. It was coming right at her..
The Lophostropheus walked silently up to the Proceratosaurus. The stillness in the air unnerved the Proceratosaur.
The quills on the Lophostropheus' neck stood on end, he flexed his large sickle clawed arms in attempt to frighten the young theropod off.
Not exactly sure of what to do, the Proceratosaurus stood her ground. She squealed at the dilophosaur, but he kept coming. The Dilophosaur snapped his jaws, large white teeth glinting in the afternoon sun.
Frightened, the Proceratosaurus ran. Right into the Dilophosaur. A screech of suprise rumbled from the Lophostropheus as he tumbled to the ground. He was up in an instant.
With three bounding footsteps, he snapped his jaws on the back of the retreating theropods neck.
A dreadful pain erupted from his jaws, and he let go.
Teeth lay imbedded in the Sub adult Proceratosaurus' neck, an agonizing pain screamed at her. She ran at the Dilophosaur, but this time he was ready. As soon as she got close, he swung his arm, connecting with the ride side of the Proceratosaurs face.
She was sent tumbling down the small hill the nest was situated on, and hit her head on a jagged rock. The impact killed her instantly. The Lophostropheus turned his attention to the nest, grabbing an egg and swallowing it whole. He ate the remaining fhree before returning to the tree line.
The scavengers had found the Proceratosaurus body, and devoured he rin a matter of minutes. Within an hour, she was reduced to nothing more then a pile of bones.
Winner....Lophostropheus!
Fighting an unexperienced animal certainly has its up sides..
The predator you were voting for didn't win? tell us why you think it would have won!
Now, onto something big.
With Dinofights week over, i propose something i'm suprised has not been done before on this forum.
A week, dedicated to the baddest of the bad....The Tyrannosaurs! Fights, stories, or news! I call it....Hail to the king week! Set to kick off tomorrow.
Nature doesn't deceive us; it is we who deceive ourselves.
