Length: 2 meters
Height: 1.4 meters
Weight: 100 lbs
Oviraptor is the garbage disposal of both islands. They eat virtually anything. For the most part, they stick to small reptiles and mammals, but in times of desperation, they will eat berries and ferns. They are solitary creatures, only accepting other members of the species in the mating season. Oviraptor has a light blue-green covering of feathers, with a bronze throat.
Syntarsus
Length: 1.8 meters
Weight: 400lbs
Height: 1.2 meters
Era: Late Triassic
Syntarus may look small and weak, but it is in fact, very strong. They will take small pacheycephalosaurs, and even the odd stegosaur. They prefer small mammals and reptiles, however. Syntarsus is a regular prey animal for the resident pterosaurs, and even the Ceratosaurs. They have a small amount of quills on the bak of the neck, which they will raise to attempt to make themselves look larger. Syntarsus is a yellow green color, with an orange crest.
And...begin..
A female Oviraptor walks across the coastal beach of isla nublar searching for food. The stench of decomposition was ever present, and yet, she could not pinpoint what it was. That's when her eyes came across the beached Icthyosaur. It was immense. Predators of all sizes were scattered around the carcass. Not a growl was to be heard from any as they ate their fill. The Oviraptor cautiously took a spot next to a Tarascosaurus, keeping one eye on it, one eye on the blubber rich carcass.
Most of the Icthosaur had been picked clea. The larger predators had alerady left, and the smaller ones were left to squabble over the leftovers. Pterosaurs were beginning to flock over head, screeching into the calm afternoon sky.
A strangely large syntarsus came striding onto the beach. His normally calm orange crest was a fiery red. He roared at the smaller animals eating their fill of the Icthosaur. They scattered, for they had some sort of knowledge the oviraptor did not. Th.e Syntarsus turned his attention to the female Oviraptor and roared loudly. She backed away a few feet, and nested on the ground. Her feathers stood on end as she watched the strange animal.
The Syntarsus ate impressive hunks of flesh. He stripped the ribs of heir meat, and pecked around the dorsal fin. Curious of this newcomer, the Oviraptor got to her feet and walked over to him.
The coelophysid inadvertently slapped her upside the head with his tail, send her reeling and falling into the sand.
She got up, spitting sand and mad as hell.
She sprinted at the Syntarsus, and drove her ony beak into his back. He shrieked in agony and span around. Baring his teeth and growling. He didn't want to fight, but he would if he needed to. The warm feeling of blood dripping down his back was the last thing on his mind.
The two predators stood staring at each other, neither moving. Neither breaking eye contact. The Syntarsus took one step forward, and the Oviraptor lunged. The Coelophysid was quick, and dove out of the way. The syntarsus turned and faced the Oviraptorids side as she rushed by. He bit down on her long vunerable neck.
His teeth didn't get far, but he still had a grip. The oviraptor howled in pain, and tried to break the death grip. She ran and ducked, trying to free herself. The attack had now become a struggle of life and death.
Finally, she broke free, leaving the Syntarsus to spit out the feathers that clogged his jaws. She charged again, but the Agile syntarsus was ready. He met her attack with a swift swinging of his head. The oviraptor was sent stumbling, and the Syntarsus took full advantage. He rammed into the unbalanced Oviraptors side, knocking her to the ground. He then grabbed her long neck in his jawsand began to suffocate her. She kicked and struggled, but it was all in vain.
After a few minutes, the Struggling ceased, the Oviraptors eyes lay in a permanent state of agony, her life blood staining the white sands dark red. The Syntarsus looked at the vanquished enemy, then returned to the trees. The pterosaurs could finish off his opponent.
Winner....Syntarsus!
In the end, jaws beat beak.
Now, trying something new here. You guys can say who you wanted to win, and give reasons why you think one was better ought to win then the othe, trying to get some good debate going! if you like it, i'll stick it as a permanent feature of PFG.

MemberCompsognathusApr-13-2014 10:49 AMGood fight. I was rooting for Syntarsus. I do think it would win in real life too. It was better suited for combat than Oviraptor. It's teeth and claws would have been a dangerous combo.

MemberCompsognathusApr-14-2014 6:47 AMI was rooting for Syntarsus aswell because of it's superior experience with fighting and it's size advantage.
Keep in mind that many people have died for their beliefs; it's actually quite common. The real courage is in living and suffering for what you believe in. -Brom-
