Terrance's Story: Jurassic Park Chapter 14

Realization

It was a week after Muldoon was rescued when Terrance sensed something was off. He looked in the direction he felt something from, and he saw some large airplanes. He looked at Thorn, and she got the idea that he wanted to get to shelter.

They found a cavern a short time later, and quickly went inside. Terrance lied down, and the rumbling of the plane engines scared Thorn. Thorn curled up next to Terrance, and Terrance curled around her. The ground started to shake, but Thorn felt better with Terrance next to her. The ground had been shaking for several minutes, and Terrance and Thorn both lost focus of the situation and started thinking about something else.

Thorn had vague memories of Terrance from the Late Cretaceous, and the large male that is looking after her reminded her of him. Terrance looked at Thorn for a moment, and he remembered growing up with Thorn. He remembered how she was always dependant on him to keep them both alive, and the young female that was with him reminded him of Thorn.

They both looked at each other, and they immediately knew what the other was thinking. They stared for a moment, knowing that they were reunited after so long. They bumped snouts, and Terrance rested his head on the ground. Thorn moved closer to Terrance's head, and he mirrored a motion he has seen humans do. Terrance opened his jaws slightly to show his teeth in an attempt to smile. Thorns's limited experience with people told her what he was trying to do, and she rubbed her head against Terrance's.

They were both asleep when the ground stopped shaking. They both woke up around the same time a few hours after the ground stopped shaking, and they walked outside. Thorn didn't know how to react when she saw the damage, but Terrance was angry. He walked to check out the damage, and there was nothing that wasn't completely destroyed. Thorn walked closer to Terrance, and the cavern suddenly caved in. They looked at it, and they looked at the baron wasteland that was their home.
