Carnosaur

Length: 2 meters
Weight: 500 lbs
Height: 1. 3 meters
Era: Late Cretacious
Next to Tyrannosaurus, Velociraptor was the main attraction of Jurassic park. There were originally 7- all female- but amphibian DNA flaws allowed them to breed, and their numbers increased. These aren't the real velociraptors, oh no. The actual raptors were around the size of a small dog. They are vicious, attacking and killing...even when they aren't hunry. The territories of Velociraptor reek with death, carcasses laying strewn around aren't an uncommon sight. This dromaeosaur has a light brown covering of bfluffy down, with small yellow patches on the back and front of the legs.
Syntarsus
Length: 1.8 meters
Weight: 400lbs
Height: 1.2 meters
Era: Late Triassic
Syntarus may look small and weak, but it is in fact, very strong. They will take small pacheycephalosaurs, and even the odd stegosaur. They prefer small mammals and reptiles, however. Syntarsus is a regular prey animal for the resident pterosaurs, and even the Ceratosaurs. They have a small amount of quills on the bak of the neck, which they will raise to attempt to make themselves look larger. Syntarsus is a yellow green color, with an orange crest.
And...begin..
It's a foggy morning on Isla nublar, as a male Syntarsus peeks warily around a conifer tree. The imposing shadow of a pterosaur had scared him into ducking behind the large tree. A lizard darts from the top of some granite boulders, and catches his full attention.
He pursues the small reptile deepi into the forest. He jumps, and lands on the lizards back. He quickly bends his neck down, and kills it with a bite to the back of the neck. He gulps the small reptile down, and curiously explores his surroundings. An incesant chirping sound grabs his attention once more. He looks up into the trees, looking for birds. He liked the taste of birds. He followed the chirping sounds deeper into the decidious forest.
The chirping grows louder, and it's accompanied by snarls and heavy breathing. He quickens his pace, and peeks his head around a sequioa tree. He finds the chriping sound to not immenate from birds, but from small, feathery things that look like birds. His eye sare immidiately drawn to the bood stained sickle claw on each foot, the marks of a raptor.
He unknowingly lets out a loud guttural growl, and regrets it instantaniously. One of the Velociraptors turns to the triassic theropod, and hisses. The other two dart into the trees. The male syntarsus eyes grow huge, and he takes stumbling steps backwards. The raptor is approaching, arms extended, eyes locked on the theropod that intruded on his territory. The male Coelophysid backs into a tree, the bark scraping his scaly skin. He raises his neck quills, and coos at the Dromaeosaur. It isn't impressed, and bull rushed the Coelophysid.
The Syntarsus lurches to the side, and the the Velociraptor runs head on into the tree. The Dromaeosaur takes a few dazed steps, and the Syntarsus capitalizes. He jumps onto the Velociraptor, and starts to rip at his back. The raptor shudders violently, freeing himself from the searing pain. He jumps at the Coelophysid, but the animal is too nimble. It jumps to the side, and the Raptor lands only on the hard grassy ground.
The syntarus rushes forward, and bites the Velociraptor on the neck. He muscles the Dromaeosaur to the ground, and pins him to the ground. The raptor fights back isciously.
The large sickle claw on the Dromeosaurs right foot sinks into the Syntarsus' left calf, blood spatters on the grass. The Syntarsus has a bulldog like grip on the Raptors neck, and isn't going to let go. The Velociraptor scratches feverishly, the attacks come slower and slower.
The Velociraptor breathes in ragged gasps, his eyes turning glossy. The Syntarsus has his eyes focused on the nearby granite boulders, trying to not give much attention to his wounds.
The Velociraptor hasn't moved in a good minute, his throat cold to the Syntarsus' mouth. Tentavily, the coelophysid lets go of his grip. The Dromaeosaur remain motionless, blood seeping onto the grassy ground. The Syntarsus shakes his head, and surveys his surroundings. Unfamiliar with them, he walked back the way he came.
Winner...Syntarsus!
Proves the more advanced animal doesn't always win ;)

Keep in mind that many people have died for their beliefs; it's actually quite common. The real courage is in living and suffering for what you believe in. -Brom-
