Velociraptor Nublarensis
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata
Clade: Dinosauria
Clade: Theropoda
Family: Dromaeosauridae
Subfamily: Velociraptorinae
Genus: Velociraptor
Number bred for the park: 7
Species data: The two foot tall, one hundred pound velociraptor didn't cut it for mr.hammond. Something that small, and feathered would not be much of an attraction. Under the direct orders of Mr.Hammond, Velociraptor DNA was spliced with that of the Utahraptor; a much bigger and formidable animal. The first few attempts ended in failure, with three youngsters hatching, but soon expiring. The fourth attempt yielded quite a masterpiece. The young stood 6 inches tall, and were not covered in feathers. Deadly talons at the ready.
The young displayed characteristics of both animals. The calm, docile demeanor of the Velociraptor, and the food aggressive, utahraptor.Changes from both species have given the inspiration to Dr. Henry Wu to name them "Velociraptor Nublarensis". They went through a rapid growth spurt. The "big one" as she has beem deemed by staff, is immense. She stands 6'2'' tall, and weighs 800 lbs. She displays the more aggressivetahraptor. genes of the Utahraptor. She has killed 4 of her fellow raptors, and has the remaining two attack the fences as keepers approach with food.
These raptors display suprising intelligience. One keeper was stated as saying " They display a great level of problem solving. You look at them, and they stare right back in a very human like way". Because of the security risk, Mr. Hammond has mandated the raptors be moved to a small, heavily secured facility. They have already killed two keepers, and severly maimed another. Questions have been raised if these deadly animals should even be part of the park, to which Mr. Hammond has no comment.

Keep in mind that many people have died for their beliefs; it's actually quite common. The real courage is in living and suffering for what you believe in. -Brom-

MemberCompsognathusMar-09-2014 4:16 PMGood job with this. And Mr.Happy, perhaps he's following the novel canon... were they didn't really know how many animals they had, due to the amphibian DNA

MemberCompsognathusMar-09-2014 7:39 PMYou do provide a good example of Genetic Engineering, HOWEVER, The raptors height came from a Genetic mutation from the frog DNA not purposley spliced.
Life cannot be contained, it breaks walls, crashes through barriers sometimes painfully, but uh... Life uh, finds a way
