A Daspletosaurus is looking after a nest with his mate. The Ceratosaurus carcass is lying on the ground, almost completely eaten, only a few bones remaining. His mate was building up the nest, and he watching, seeing if there was any way he could help.

A Baryonyx is looking for a new section of river to fish in. He has eaten most of the fish in the river, and isn't having luck catching the few that remain. He heard something, and decided to check it out.

The Daspletosaurus female went hunting while the male stayed to look after the nest. The female had been gone for about ten minutes when the male sensed something was wrong. The Baryonyx stepped into the clearing, and the Daspletosaurus immediately got defensive. The Baryonyx was unsure why until he saw the nest. He looked at the nest several times, and the Daspletosaurus roared, trying to scare the Baryonyx away, but also to get his mate's attention.

The Baryonyx ran at the Daspletosaurus, hoping to confuse him long enough to grab an egg and run before he got harmed. The Daspletosaurus had a different plan, and hit the Baryonyx head on. The Baryonyx fell back, winded, and the Daspletosaurus tried to end the fight right there. He lunged for his neck, but the Baryonyx caught his breath and slashed the Daspletosaurus in the face.

The Daspletosaurus jumped back from the surprise, and he roared at the Baryonyx again. The Baryonyx stood up and roared back, and then both heard a roar in the distance. The Daspletosaurus looked at the Baryonyx with new confidence, and the charged. The Baryonyx sidestepped, but the Daspletosaurus expected it, and attacked him again.

The Daspletosaurus bit his arm, and pushed him to the ground. He stepped back and waited for the Baryonyx to stand up. When the Baryonyx stood up, he bit his neck, and he started pushing him. He heard a roar, and his mate bit the Baryonyx's neck. The Baryonyx went limp, and they both ate.

Winner...... Daspletosaurus

Larger, stronger, and having a nest to defend gave Daspletosaurus an advantage.
