The Rise of The 2015 Park Part 4: The Crew is Back

Isla Nublar, March 2015, three months to grand opening. A helicopter is flying to Northern Isla Nublar. Inside are Alan Grant, Ian Malcolm, Ellie Sattler, John Hammond, and Robert Muldoon.

"So John, you're sure this park is going to succeed, don't forget what happened last time you dragged us out here." "Yes Ian, I'm sure Jurassic World is going to do just fine." "Why's that? The name change?" Everyone laughs, everyone but Hammond and Muldoon. "Dr. Malcolm, this isn't a laughing matter. We've ramped up security, and this time, I truly didn't spare any expense." "Come on John, have a sense of humour, it was a simple joke, and I hope so." "Don't forget that Muldoon here was almost killed when the park failed last time, and it could have been worse." "Alright John, you've made your point, are we there yet?" "Five more minutes."

Thorn watched the helicopter fly past her paddock and begin to hover. She knew it was about to land, and she watched it expectantly as it slowly went down. When it finally landed, she turned and walked away, not interested in whatever it was doing, she just enjoyed the sight of them.

"Wow, the park looks great from this short look." "Thanks Mr. Grant, I hope you enjoy the rest of it as much as I do." "I hope so too." "What do you say we split up, do our own thing for a while, that way we can look at what we want." "That's a great idea Mr. Malcolm. Just be sure to get to the visitor centre before noon." "Alright John."

Thorn heard the familiar voices, and everyone walked to her paddock before splitting up. She looked at them, and they looked back. They all recognized her, and she recognized them.

"John, are you sure it was a good idea to keep this Rex around, she doesn't look as friendly as Muldoon said she was." "Alan, she kept me alive for the past twenty years, show some respect. Besides, John, how thick did you say the plexiglass is?" "Twenty four inches Robert." "Alright Robert, but remember, she nearly killed all of us at one point, and Ian twice." "But she didn't, and I'm here because of her." "Alright Robert, you're alive because of the old Rex, I get it, I still don't trust her completely." "That's fine. Why don't you just look at her for what she is, a T-Rex. Forget that she nearly killed you, just admire what she is."

Thorn didn't understand the conversation, but she knew that they had been talking about her. She looked at Muldoon and her attitude changed. She went from the original aggressive look to a friendlier look, happy to see Muldoon and Hammond.

Malcolm, Sattler, and Grant went off in different directions to look around the park. Workers were happy to help them at every twist and turn, and at every paddock. Maintenance crews were driving around in their Jeeps, making sure everything met safety specs, and guides were walking their routes, admiring their workplace.

Muldoon and Hammond stayed at Thorn's paddock, both sitting at a picnic table talking, and a waiter was cooking a pizza for them. "John, did you put this Pizza Hut here on purpose?" "What do you mean?" Remember? Back when she was fourteen, when was that now? 1978?" "Oh, yes, I do remember, that was entertaining. And yes, I did do that on purpose." "Thought so. This is nice, there's a nice breeze, a nice view, the food smells great." "I can't wait for June, the public is going to love this place." "I know, I just wish they got to see this back in 1993." "Me too. Oh well, better late than never."

Thorn was laying down near where Hammond and Muldoon were sitting, and she was enjoying listening to them talk, she didn't feel alone anymore.

"You know, I've been thinking about using the sample inside this." "The one in your cane? I wonder what's been in there for the past thirty years." "Me too, that's why I want to clone the beast inside here. What do you think of going to Isla Sorna to the lab to get this examined?" "Sure, tomorrow though." "Alright, what if it's a T-Rex inside?" "Then we'll have something to replace Rexy when she passes. I'm surprised she's lasted this long." "True, can't wait to see what's in here."
