MemberCompsognathusFebruary 03, 20142128 Views9 Repliesgot this idea while looking for small carnivores for PFG season two, here's how it will go: I will be highlighting a poorly known or overlooked dinosaur every day, to get these guys some much deserved light!
Today will be this lil guy:
Shuvuuia
Shuvuuia is a small(2 feet long) bird-like dinosaur from the late Cretaceous Mongolia. It is a member of the family Alvarezsauridae, small dinosaurs which are characterized by short but powerful forelimbs specialized for digging. The diet consists of termites and small insects, with the occasional egg. Shuvuuia lived along side Ferocious predators such as velociraptor and Tarbosaurus, the omnivorous Oviraptor, and the ceratopsian Protoceratops.
Nature doesn't deceive us; it is we who deceive ourselves.
