MemberCompsognathusJan-31-2014 11:35 PMAlright here we go again ! This time with paragraphs!
SPINOSAURUS:
Length: 58 ft
Height: 17 ft
Weight: 7-8 tons
Era: Mid Cretaceous
Spinosaurus is one of the largest predators on both islands if not the largest. They will actively hunt an kill juvenile Tyrannosaurs, as they have a deep and stange hatred and fear of the adults. They also will frighten off any charcarodontosaurs, the reason for this is not clear. Spinosaurs are found on both Islands in moderation in swamps, rivers, lakes, and anything with water, as they are astonishing swimmers and the main prey of these large animals are fish.
TYRANNOTITAN:
LENGTH: 42 ft
HEIGHT: 16 ft
WEIGHT: 5-6 tons
ERA: Early Cretaceous
Tyrannotitan are very aggressive animals. They only are scared of more powerful carnivores, and will attack any smaller dinosaur. They only hunt in pairs, although they will sometimes pair with other charcarodontosaurs, and even allosaurs. They are very rare only found on Nublar, although there have been sightings in Sorna.
Fight!
A Tyrannotitan walks through thick fog on Nublar. He is now approaching the old main watering hole where the Brachiosaurs and Parasaurs used to be, which has now become overgrown and is now a swamp. He is searching for food, and ready for a hunt. He soon smells a dead body near the water and bee-lines towards it. He comes upon a small Kaprosuchus that has been ripped open. The charcarodontosaur roars into the night signaling this as his territory. He bends down and starts to eat. As he reaches down to pick up the dead animal and take it into the forest, he fails to notice a large sail slowly slicing through water, straight towards him.
He picks up the crocodilian, just as a male Spinosaurus lunges out of the water, biting the throat of the Tyrannotitan. The charcarodontosaur drops the Kaprosuchus and claws the face of his larger adversary, leaving deep gashes. The Spinosaur releases his grip and roars in pain and fury. The Tyrannotitan roars in anger and tries to intimidate the spinosaur. In response the bigger theropod slashes the charcarodontosaur along his flanks. It is now personal, the fights on.
The Tyrannotitan head butts the Spinosaurus, who tumbles and tries to recover footing. The allosauroid grabs the sail in his jaws and rips off a few the spines. The Spinosaurus roars in pain and slashes the Tyrannotitan down his neck. The Tyrannotitan roars and charges the Spinosaur, running at him with the force of a runaway train. The bigger theropod sees it coming and dodges, slapping the side of the Tyrannotitan leaving deep, bloody, streaks along the charcarodontosaur. The Tyrannotitan roars in pain and grabs the Spinosaurs’ left arm, shredding it to ribbons. The Spinosaurus creates a basic strategy, and backs up with every attack from his opponent, barely dodging each. He slowly retreats to the water. The Tyrannotitan doesn’t notice in his rage, as the Spinosaur gets deep enough to swim, and snaps around in a full frontal attack on the allosauroid. The spinosaur shoves into the Tyrannotitan and bites his neck. The Tyrannotitan loses his footing and sinks, as the Spinosaur’s jaws crunch down. Between the water and the spinosaur the Tyrannotitan can’t breathe and he soon suffocates. The Spinosaurus drags the dead charcarodontosaur onto shore and slashes it, sending a message to any other animal in the area. He roars into the night sky, and thinks he can hear the roar of an echoing Tyrannosaurus rex.
WINNER: SPINOSAURUS
Although the Tyrannotitan was slightly more powerful, once the fight entered the water, all bets were off.

MemberCompsognathusJan-31-2014 11:44 PMAlright so this is how it works! You pick 2 dinosaurs for T. rex to fight and once I find two I like, I will write the fight. T. rex is the only confirmed dino for the fight. Only rule is, no small to medium dinos. Only large, but it can be herbivores (Stegosaurus, triceratops, alamosaurus) although it is not a necessity. Thanks!

MemberCompsognathusFeb-01-2014 12:33 AMgood fight, i was rooting for Tyrannotitan, but still it was well written. hmmm...How about...Tyrannosaurus vs Mapusaurus?

MemberCompsognathusFeb-01-2014 1:28 AMSorry, but like it says, once it was in Spino's hometurf it was all over, but if you look, while they were on land Tyrannotitan was definitely on top. And I like that idea, would it be extreme size (13 meters) Average (11-12 m) or conservative (10 m) of mapusaurus?

MemberCompsognathusFeb-01-2014 10:47 AMAlright, so far so good. I don't want to do 2 closely related tyrannosaurs. Sorry UCMP, any other ideas?
@Carnosaur, yeah mapusaurus is a good one, I'll think about it.
@Mr. Happy, Your idea is one of my favorites, although it is a little small, I might try to size it up a little :)

MemberCompsognathusFeb-01-2014 10:53 AMit's not as small as you probably think, stretching out to 11 meters and weighing 3.5 tons
Oh you could do European Torvosaurus vs Tyrannosaurus! Both were around the same size, Rex was just heavier

MemberCompsognathusFeb-01-2014 12:23 PMThats true. It just wasn't quite you know, giant like a Rex. That's why I said i'd probably have to size it up a little. Also I was hoping some one would suggest Torvosaurus! That one is confirmed. Also, based on a recent skull and vertebrae, it wasn't just the European torvo that was nearly as long as an average Rex.

MemberCompsognathusFeb-01-2014 12:28 PMThe biggest Torvosaurus was actually aboout 2-3 meters shorter wasn't it? And T. rex got a whole lot bigger based on some recent estimates. But, still the Torvosaurus could have reached nearly 40-42 ft long, which is on the lower size range of an average T. rex, so if I had it be a smaller Rex, it could be a pretty good fight.

MemberCompsognathusFeb-01-2014 12:54 PMfragmentary remains suggest a European torvosaurus got 12-13 meters, Rex probably got to 13-14 meters according to new studies

MemberCompsognathusFeb-01-2014 1:51 PMT-rex was anywhere between 12-15 meters long and 7-12 tons or so(that covers the majority of estimates out there) while Torvosaurus is estimated to be between 10-12 meters long and 3-4 tons(based on most estimates). Mapusaurus varies a good bit. Some estimates as high as 14 meters long and 8 tons have been published while others as low as 10 meters and 3 tons have been recorded. I personally place it at 11-12 meters long and 5-6 tons at the most.
Good fight BTW
My suggestion is Carcharodontosaurus(11-13 meters long and 5-7 tons).

MemberCompsognathusFeb-01-2014 3:30 PMThe oversized Tarbo vs the average T.Rex suggestion was more of a joke, than an actual suggestion.
For a herbivore, maybe Therizinosaurus. As for the carnivore, i'd say either Giga or Acro.
P.S. I personally believe that Acro was 4.5-6 tons, i know that some of you probably don't agree with that, so if you think that it is too light-weight to fight a T.Rex Im pefectly fine with that. :)

MemberCompsognathusFeb-01-2014 3:59 PM@ Rex Fan
The 15 m T-rex is what I was referring to. Although part of skull suggests maybe even 16-17 meter T-rex. But right now its between Torvosaurus or Charcarodontosaurus, and the herbivore is either Therizinosaurus and Shunosaurus. I'm leaning towards Torvo, because the last two fights included characarodontosaurs. As for the herbivores, I think shunosaurus, because it has not yet been in a fight.

MemberCompsognathusFeb-01-2014 6:59 PMWhen you guys post fights with spinosaurus, you are always manipulative and almost like your trying to use reverse psycology, which clearly doesnt work on me. Just like S-Rex said, just because you have an opinion dosent mean you should take it for granted ;)

MemberCompsognathusFeb-01-2014 10:45 PMI'm sorry, how was I being manipulative? I was not using reverse psychology, I was simply stating, that being more robust and well musceled, that in my perspective it was as as powerful if not slightly more powerful than Spinosaurus' weight advantage. Spino even WON because he used what he did best and used his attributes to his advantage, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I have a right to state my opinion in my own fight. But whatever, we each have perspectives I suppose.

I'm guessing that the Torvo and the Shuno are going to team up on the Rex, because otherwise it would hardly be a challenge for it.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexFeb-02-2014 12:33 PMNice choice in pictures. It is hard to get them to agree with anything (besides Spinosaurus being superior to everything in every way), but I wouldn't go that far. This is why I'm considering not including Rex and Spino in DD9097LS, but at the same time, I think it would be better with them.
