Megalosaurus
Length: 10 meters
Weight: 1.5 tons
Height: 3 meters
Era: Mid Jurassic
Megalosaurus is a voracious hunter. They hunt in solitude, with the force and brute strength unrivaled on Isla Nublar. Even the Great Giganotosaurus stays clear of Megalosaurus.Because of their hunting style, adults usually have many scars..partly because of their hunting habits, partly because they aren't the smartest of animals. Juveniles are a bit more cautious when attacking prey, but this seems to wear off with age. Megalosaurus typically come in a dull red color, with blue rings around both eyes.
Carnotaurus
Length: 9 meters
Weight: 1 ton
Height: 3 meters
Era: Mid Cretaceous
Carnotaurus looks like one of the dinosaurs that didn't come out of the oven right. It's tiny arms(about a foot long) served little purpose. Nonetheless, it is an apex predator. Not exactly at the top of the food chain, as it is preyed on by large tyrannosaurs and allosaurs. Carnotaurus is a specilized small herbivore hunter, especially dryosaurs, it's favored prey. Carnotaurus kills with a bite to the back, then shaking the poor animal until the back breaks. Then, with it's flexible jaws, swallow the prey animal whole. This is thought to be an adaptation to avoid loosing its' kill. The coloration of Carnotaurus is a light brown, with red tiger-like stripes down the entire body.
Fight!
A downpour strikes Isla Sorna, and a male Megalosaurus seeks shelter under a rocky ledge. It got him out of the rain, but he was still helplessly cold. He hated the rain. It had flooded his his home territory that he had won once he killed the Baryonyx, and now the rain was making him miserable. and a bit irritable.
He noticed a small outline dart towards the shelter from the rain, and noticed it was a big utahraptor. It too was shaking uncontrollably, but this didn't matter to the Megalosaur. Out of pure distaste, he bit down on the Utahraptor, picked it up, and threw it against a nearby tree. The Dromeaosaur didn't get back up. He snorted in disgust, and looked to the sky, hoping the rain would dissapear soon.
Thirty minutes went by before the rain loosened up, but it only did a little. Annoyed, the Megalosaurus went to search for a better shelter from the rain. The longer he searched, the more irratable he got. He couldn't find a decent hiding spot that was unoccupied, so he decided he would steal one. He searched a nearby cave and roared out a challenge, but soon realized his mistake. A bull Tyrannosaurus Rex charged at the megalosaur at top speed. Frozen to the spot in fear, all he could do was bow his head in submission. The Tyrannosaur stopped, but was unsatisfied. He knocked the Megalosaur to the ground with a swift head butt, and went back into his cave.
Shaken, the Megalosaur slowly got to his feet. He made a mental note to check out a spot before challenging the occupant. The rain was starting to sop, and the irritated Megalosaur decided to check on his territory. When he arrived, he noticed it was severly flooded, but he could still live in it. He looked towards the water and noticed many small crocodiles and large fish swimming around. New prey. The megalosaur moved on to check the rest of his territory.
He decided to rest under his favorite sequoia tree, and was stunned to see a large animal in his spot. He walked over and sniffed it, still cautious about challenging anything since the Tyrannosaur incident. The animal groggily opened one eye and saw the Megalosaur, but quickly resumed it's nap. Anger building, the Megalosaur kicked at it. This got the animals full attention, and it quickly stood up. it was massive. The Megalosaur recognized the animal as a Carnotaurus, a common sight around his swamp.
The two animals just looked at each other. Neither was sure what to do, that is until the Carnotaurus let out a high pitched growl. The Megalosaurus saw this as a challenge, and began to assess his opponent. It was roughly the same size, he could take it easily. The Megalosaurus darted forward and bit the Carnotaurus' snout. The Abelisaur squeaked and walked uneasily forward. The Megalosaur released his grip, and was almost bowled over by the Carnotaurus' charge. The two Theropods engaged in a bizzare shoving match, neither one budging. The Megalosaur used his long arms to scratch the Abelisaurs sides.
The abelisaur hopped away from the Megalosaurs lethal claws, and the Megalosaur capitalized. He rammed into The Carnotaurus' side, and the massive animal crashed to the ground. Moving quick, the Megalosaur bit down on the Abelisaurs neck. A high pitched scream erupted from the abelisaur. It hurt the Megalosaurs' ears, but didn't stop his attack. He picked the Abelisaur up by his neck, and tried to crush it. The panicked abelisaur used his flexible foot claws and kicked at the attacking megalosaur. He scored a lucky blow on the marauding megalosaurs vunerable stomach, and he was freed from his jaws.
The Carnotaurus turned and ran as fast as he could. The behemoth came from the left. The jaws of the Carcharodontosaurus snapped down on the Carnotaurus' back. The poor animal could do nothing as he was dragged into the air and shaken around. The Carcharodontosaurus threw the abelisaur to the ground and stomped it's skull, killing him.
The Megalosaur had seen the whole thing. Before he could run, the ravaging Carcharodontosaurus was upon him. As he turned, the Carcharodontosaur bit the back of his neck. The megalosaur screeched in pain, but couldn't hear himself above the sickening sound of cracking bone. With three tons of bite force, the Carcharodontosaur snapped the helpless Megalosaurs neck. It let the dead Theropod fall to the ground, and with a triumphant roar claimed the territory as its own.
Winner...Carcharodontosaurus!
Well, no one really won this. If you weren't keeping track, that's a record setting THREE competitors taken out of PFG. Bet no one saw that one coming, eh?

MemberCompsognathusJan-27-2014 4:49 PMthat's right. I didn't want to kill it off this way, but it wouldn't have survived the finale

Keep in mind that many people have died for their beliefs; it's actually quite common. The real courage is in living and suffering for what you believe in. -Brom-
