Cryolophosaurus
Length: 7 meters
Weight: 1 ton
Height: 2.5 m tall
Era: Early Jurassic
Cryolophosaurus acts like a modern rooster. It's comb-like structure is usually a tan color, but turns red during the mating season, it turns orange when trying to scare off a rival. These large Dilophosaurs spend most of their time actively hunting down small sauropods. Their jaws are remarkably strong for a dilophosaur. Cryolophosurus can't seem to sit still. It is always in motion, even when it's sleeping. This often gives away their position when ambushing prey, and the sucess rate is around 25%, much lower then most carnivores on the Island. Cryolophosaurus is a muddy gray color with splotches of green and blue.
Utahraptor
Length: 7 meters
Weight: 1000 lbs
Height: 1.7 meters
Utahraptor is probably the biggest raptor that ever lived. As one might expect, it bore the biggest sickle claws of the raptors..measuring nearly a foot long. Utahraptor lives and hunts in solitude, hunting the the multi-ton hadrosaurs and cerotopsians in the night of Isla Nublar. Utahraptor is covered in sandy brown feathers, which flush with various color during mating season. It possess a strange characteristic unknown in any other raptors, it mimics the sound of other Dinosaurs. It uses this to it's advantage when hunting hadrosaurs, luring them to it while mimicking the distress call of a baby hadrosaur.
Fight!
The male Cryolophosaurus raised his arm to swat at the swarm of flies buzzing around his head. They had been nothing but a nuisance since he had killed the two Achillobators. He glanced over at the rotting carcasses, also covered in flies. Having had enough of these pests, he got to his feet and walked to a nearby stream. The resident ceratosaurus stared as the huge Dilophosaur ambled towards the stream. The Cryolophosaur growled, and the ceratosaur hastily walked away.
The male Cryolophosaurus snorted and bent his head to drink. The sound of crunching leaves made the Dilophosaur stand at full attention. He listened intently for a minute, but heard nothing more. He resumed drinking, but soon the sound of footstps startled him enough that he was now in a full defensive mode.
He couldn't pinpoint where or what was approaching him, but the familiar scent of death reached his nose. It was a rival predator. The Cryolophosaurus flushed blood into his crest, turning it a bright yellow. He strained to see what the animal was, but coulnd't spot it. He was starting to get anxious. He screeched out in the direction of the sound and listened for a response. He was startled to hear his own voice coming back to his ears.Fearing it was a larger Cryolophosaurus, he lowered himself to the ground, prepared to leave if the animal was larger then he.
He was both relieved and amused to see a raptor emerge from the trees. The raptor was about his size and a male by the looks of it,and it was moving with an apprehensive manner. Thrilled he wasn't going have to abandon his new home, he decided he was hungry. He loved the taste of raptor, and this one was huge, it would feed him for days. He made a low rumbling call, and the raptor snapped to attention. They locked eyes, and the raptor knew he would need to make a hasty exit. He started to back away, when the Dilophosaur sprinted at him. He stepped to the side, and the rushing Cryolophosaurus sped by. It blocked the Raptor's only exit, so the Utahraptor decided to try to knock the Dilophosaur to the ground and run for his life.
The Cryolophosaurus had just turned around when he noticed the raptor was rushing at him. Alarmed, he jumped to the side. The raptor rushed by, and just kept going. Angry his potential meal was about to escape, he gave chase. With a blood curling roar, he chased the Utahraptor. The raptor turned and almost collapsed in shock when he saw the Cryolophosaurus on his heels. They were in an open field, and there was no where to hide. The raptor was getting tired, and the Dilophosaur showed no signs of tiring.
The raptor slowed to a jog, and turned to face the Dilophosaur. The Cryolophosaurus had not noticed the raptor had stopped, and slammed head on into it. The light weight raptor was sent flying, while the Cryolophosaur stood firm. He watched the raptor crash to the ground. He snarled deeply, and walked towards the downed Dromeaosaur. The Utahraptor had just gotten up when the Dilophosaur lunged for his neck. The agile dromaeosaur lunged out of the way and the Cryolophosaurus bit only grass and dirt.
The raptor used the oppurtunity and jumped onto the Cryolophosaurs side. He plunged his lethal sickle claw into the Dilophosaurs side. The huge claw sank deep into the Cryolophosaurs side and connected with one of his ribs. The Cryolophosaurus squealed in pain, and ran around trying to free himself from the raptor. The Dromaeosaur held fast, and shredded the helpless Dilophosaurs' side. He climbed up onto the Cryolophosaurs' back and With all the forced he could muster, the raptor plunged his toe claw into the Dilophosaurs' thin hide.
The huge animal went from a sprint to a dead fall, and both hit the ground hard. The Dromaeosaur got to his feet, and saw the Dilophosaur still lying on the ground. It was gasping for air and trying to get up, but it couldn't. The Utahraptor felt no pity for this animal that had tried to kill him. He walked up to the dying Cryolophosaurus and put his big foot on it's neck. The Dilophosaur turned his eye to look at the raptor, and the Dromaeosaur plunged his foot long claw into the Cryolophosaurs neck. He gave a final high pitched squeal, and ceased to move. The utahraptor shuddered, and walked towards the nearby mountains. He looked into the sky and noticed a storm was brewing...
Winner...Utahraptor!
Smarter and stronger, the Raptor was able to come out on top of the Cryolophosaurus.

MemberCompsognathusJan-27-2014 7:01 AMI'm going with Carno, they were both about the same size, but Carno lived about 100 million years after Mega, which suggests that he was smarter.
