Suchomimus
Length: 11 m
Height: 4 m
Weight 3 tons
Era: Early Cretaceous
Suchomimus looks like a crocodile on steroids. It spends the majprity of it's life in the shallow waters of isla Nublar, eating a variety of sharks and rays, and even the occasional crocodile. It has next to no competition, and because of this their numbers have exploded in recent years. They are somewhat social animals, especially when prey is plentiful. There has been as many as thirty of these spinosaurs on one stretch of beach. Suchomimus doesn't tolerate other spinosaurs for some odd reason, and they will even attack a large spinosaur if it intrudes on the Suchomimus' beach. These spinosaurs come in a pale green color, and sport a small yellow dewlap.
Becklespinax
Length: 7.5 m
Weight: 2 tons
Height: 3.5 m
Era: early Cretaceous
Becklespinax lives on the lush open plains of Isla Sorna. They are ambush predators, and often sit in wait for as long as 2 days for prey to wander by. When suitable prey blunders by(preferably a juvenile sauropod) the rush out and kill with a swift bite to the neck. Becklespinax lives and hunts in small family groups, but the males are kicked out at the young age of 2 years. They typically are dark green with small red stripes on the snout, and splotches of white down the body.
Fight!
The old female suchomimus shuddered violently as she walked to the rivers edge. For some reason, she was always cold, even after positioning her sail to the blazing noon sun. She tried to not let this hinder her, but when it came down to it she slept in the interior of her cave, on a small nest of leaves and twigs she made. This helped, but not all that often.
She walked to the waters edge and noticed the skeleton of the Torvosaurus she had killed weeks before. She looked down in pity, and moved into the shallow water. Her keen eyesight helped spot a large Onchopristis, and she darted towards the large fish. She lifted the massive animal out of the water with ease, like it weighed nothing.
She threw her prize catch onto the shore and walked over to feed. Already, a small band of austroraptor were eagerly watching, ready to scavenge. She hissed, and they darted to a small pile of boulders, excitedly hopping foot to foot. She watched them for a minute, then gourged herself.
The panicked shrill vocalizations of the raptors brought her to attention. The Dromaeosaurs were rushing for the trees, apparently frightened off their perch. She knew these raptors wouldn't usually run off from a rival theropod, and kept her eyes locked on the pile of boulders. The sun was directly in her eyes, so she couldn't really make out much of anything. After about a minute, the huge outline of a sailbacked animal came into view.
The Suchomimus thought it was a fellow spinosaur challenging her for her fishing spot once again. Instictively, she put her foot on top of the dead Onchopristis and roared. The monstrous animal came more into focus, and it was revealed to be a male Becklespinax. It had smelt the fish from a quarter of a mile, and wanted it. The Hungry allosaur shrieked a challenge to the Spinosaur.
The female Suchomimus flushed blood to her sail, turning it a bright pink color. Baffled, the Becklespinax stood and stared at the large animal in front of him. Seeing through the ruse, he ran at the Suchomimus. Having been attacked in this fashion many times before, the Spinosaur knew what she needed to do. She slashed his face as he got close, driving her six inch talons into his cheek. The stunned allosaur stepped back, and squealed at the Spinosaur. Blood ran down his cheek as he tried to come up with a strategy.
Before he could get a decent idea, the spinosaur was upon him. She lunged forward, trying to take out his right leg. Alarmed, the Allosaur jerked his leg back, and his knee connected with her snout. Her head smacked hard into the ground, and the Becklespinax seized the moment. He kicked the Suchomimus in the side of her head, and the rest of her body hit the soft sand with a thud.
The male Becklespinax walked around her and positioned himself to disembowel the downed Spinosaur. He went to rip open her stomach, when he recieved a kick to his head. Suprised, he stumbled backwards, and the Spinosaur got to her feet. She had underestimated her opponent, and knew she would be better off driving him away then killing him outright.
She gnashed her enormous teeth and opened her arms to the side, hoping the display would get the marauding allosaur to back off. It didn't. The Becklespinax ran head on at the Suchomimus. He recieved another devastating blow to his head, and his blood now ran freely down his snout. He stomped his feet and roared, and the Suchomimus responded by once again turning her sail a bright pink color. The now frustrated allosaur looked at the dead onchopristis. It was too much for him to pick up and run with, so he would need to drive off the huge Spinosaur.
The Becklespinax snarled and rushed in head on again, and the Spinosaur swung her talons. She missed, and the allosaur bit down on her neck. She panicked, and swung wildly at the Becklespinax with as much force as she could, and connected with a thin section of his neck. She dug her claws into the Allosaurs neck, and the bite loosened. The Spinosaur stepped back, and the Becklespinax slumped to the ground.
The Spinosaur looked down at her adversary with the same look of pity she gave the Torvosaur skeleton. She turned her back towards the water, and heard the excited chirping of the Austroraptors. She waded into the water, knowing the Raptors would soon be slashing at the new casualty of the areas alpha predator.
Winner...Suchomimus!
The Suchomimus was just too much for the Smaller Becklspinax..

Keep in mind that many people have died for their beliefs; it's actually quite common. The real courage is in living and suffering for what you believe in. -Brom-
