When Thorn turned twenty, she was large. Dr. Wu measured her to be about forty two feet long and weighing in at nine tons. "She's the largest carnivore here John, almost ten feet longer than the Baryonyx and six tons heavier." "Impressive, you say dinosaurs never stopped growing, but growth rate just slowed once they were about two thirds of the way through their lives, right?" "Yes, the only problem is that Tyrannosaurus is believed to live to about thirty years at the most." "That's 65 million years ago when everyday was a struggle, this is captivity, I'm hoping she reaches at least forty." "That's reasonable I guess."
Thorn didn't understand the conversation, but she knew she was close to her size from 65 million years ago when she was thirty eight, so she was happy to be back to size.
"John, you do know we have a Spinosaurus too, right?" "I know, how big do those things get?" "They can get up to sixty feet long and ten tons, give or take." "That's even bigger than Rexy, you think she'll still be the main attraction?" "Of course John, remember, everyone wants to see a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Who's heard of Spinosaurus?" "Good point Henry, can't wait to see the Spinosaurus."
Meanwhile at the lab, Muldoon and the research team are loading the Spinosaurus into the truck, ready to go to it's enclosure. When they finally got it in and locked, Muldoon said, "Good job boys, who's ready for lunch?" "All of us are, let's go." "First we have to unload the Spinosaurs." "Come on Robert! You know we're hungry!"
When the Spinosaurus was released, something went wrong and it got out of it's paddock and broke into Thorn's. She had seen it walk into the paddock, and saw it as a threat and potential meal for her. She hid, ready to ambush it. When it walked past, she attacked, killing it with a quick bite to the neck. She ate most of it, and what wasn't eaten, was quickly scooped up by helicopter and buried deep in the mountain.
"Robert, what happened?" "The Spinosaurus, it walked into the fence, fell, and broke it's neck. It died unfortunately, damn shame too, it was so cool." "Damn shame indeed. Onto better thoughts, how do you like the SPAS 12?" "It's pretty cool, my new favourite weapon."

MemberCompsognathusJan-21-2014 6:31 AMI can already smell the Spino/Rex debate coming, but otherwise it was, yet again, a great chapter
Keep in mind that many people have died for their beliefs; it's actually quite common. The real courage is in living and suffering for what you believe in. -Brom-

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJan-21-2014 6:38 AMI had forgottan about that when I posted. Rexy is big, as was stated, and Spino had a rather thin neck. I forget if I had wrote it and plan ed on saying it was full grown or not, but remember, Rexy is 20 and was released into her paddock at 14, so the Spunosaurus could have been young, so let's go with that.
