Cryolophosaurus
Length: 7 meters
Weight: 1 ton
Height: 2.5 m tall
Era: Early Jurassic
Cryolophosaurus acts like a modern rooster. It's comb-like structure is usually a tan color, but turns red during the mating season, it turns orange when trying to scare off a rival. These large Dilophosaurs spend most of their time actively hunting down small sauropods. Their jaws are remarkably strong for a dilophosaur. Cryolophosurus can't seem to sit still. It is always in motion, even when it's sleeping. This often gives away their position when ambushing prey, and the sucess rate is around 25%, much lower then most carnivores on the Island. Cryolophosaurus is a muddy gray color with splotches of green and blue.
Achillobator
Length: 6 meters
Weight: 800 lbs
Height: 1.5 m
Era: Late Cretaceous
Achillobator is one of the few raptors that hunts in pairs, Most other raptors hunt in huge packs or by themselves. These pairs consist of siblings, or the occasional two solo raptors that bump into each other. Being large bodied Dromaeosaurids, they can take any prey they would like, excluding the largest sauropods. They seem to enjoy ankylosaurs the most for some reason, flipping over the prehistoric tank and disembowling it. Achillobator has a faint red covering of feathers, with a dark red and white tipped tail.
Fight!
A pair of achillobator feast on a large ankylosaurus they had just killed on a small plain that was surrounded by trees . The smaller female of the pair recieved a small blow to the side, a half hearted attempt by the ankylosaur to kill it. Nevertheless, she had substained three broken ribs and breathing came at the price of sharp pain. The larger female saw this, and aloud her to eat the choice cuts while she went to work on the Ankylosaurus' neck.
A large gust of wind blew in their direction and they both could smell a variety of animals near their location. All to familiar scent of ceratosaurs, stegosaurs, and ornithomimids flooded their senses. Not sensing a threat, they went back to gourging themselves.
A large stick snapping got their attention. They looked towards a small hill, and saw something big coming their way. The animal reached the crest of the hill, and it was revealed to be a big ceratosaurus. He was dragging a dead juvenile allosaurus behind him. The Ceratosaur gave a cursory glance at the raptors, but moved on into a small grove of trees.
What they failed to notice was the female Cryolophosaurus that had snuck up behind them. She was large, at around 9 meters, a giant for her species. She was driven out of her territory by a group of Troodon, and had been aimlessly wandering Isla Sorna for weeks. The Dilophosaur had no sucess hunting. She was starving, and would do just about anything for some meat. The raptors had their backs turned to her, and she pondered if a raptor would make a better meal then the ankylosaur.
Her decision was made for her when the small female blundered by her into nearby trees. Eagerly, she followed. Not wanting to give her location away she stayed at a distance. The raptor had her back to the Cryolophosaurus, oblivious to what was about to happen. The Cryolophosaurus watched the raptor as it groomed itself and gave soft hooting cries.
The Dilophosaur sprang forward and picked the light weight raptor clean off the ground. Without a sound, The Cryolophosaurus shook her like a ragdoll and threw her to the ground. The fractured ribs of the Achillobator pierced her internal organs as she hit, and she died. The Dilophosaur dragged the body to the trees to feast.
The larger of the two female raptors had noticed the other had been gone for some time, and was getting worried. She walked in the direction her companion walked in, and gave soft hooting cries. The Dilophosaur heard this but didn't give it any attention. She resumed eating the Achillobator, but was still hungry. She looked for the source of the strange hooting cries, seeing it as a possible meal.
The Dilophosaur looked from her hiding place and saw the strange hooting cries were coming from the Achillobator. She drooled, and forgetting she had wanted to ambush the second raptor, stepped out of the trees. The Achillobator turned and shrieked at the massive Dilophosaur with blood stained jaws. The Raptor knew the animal in front of her killed her companion. The massive dilophosaurs crest turned a weird blue color, and he rushed at the Achillobator. The raptor darted off into the trees, leaving the Dilophosaur in it's dust. The Cryolophosaurus snarled, and turned back to finish the dead Achillobator.
The raptor came out of no where. It ran with surpising speed and latched onto the Dilophosaurs' side. She slashed and ripped at the Cryolophosaurs' side. The Dilophosaur shook and shuddered violently, throwing the raptor off. The Achillobator landed hard, and wasn't fast enought to get to its feet. The Dilophosaur seized the moment and bit down on the raptors neck. The leight weight bones snapped easier then the dilophosaur expected, and it drug the dead raptor to the trees, just like it did its companion.
Winner...Cryolophosaurus!
Achillobator had better weaponryand there was two, but the Cryolophosaurus used ambush tactics, and it being a bit larger won the fight for it.

Keep in mind that many people have died for their beliefs; it's actually quite common. The real courage is in living and suffering for what you believe in. -Brom-

MemberCompsognathusJan-20-2014 12:40 PMNice. I did a similar fight between Ceratosaurus and Utahraptor. Despite being more advanced than Ceratosaurus, the Utahraptor lost because the Ceratosaurus could take more punishment overall and lasted longer in heavy combat than the more lightly built Utahraptor.

MemberCompsognathusJan-20-2014 12:44 PMi saw that one. I debated putting this one up today, there's some similar fights - yours and i think deltadromeus' - but i liked how this one turned out in the end. What do you guys think? second fight later today?
