This one was suggested to me, let's get on with it!

Baryonyx:Baryonyx. by Frank-Lode

Length: 10 m

Weight: 3 tons

Height:2.75 m

Era: Mid Cretaceous

Baryonyx is a mid sized spinosaurid that, unlike other spinosaurs, has a strict diet of large bodied fish. It spends its entire life in the shallow waters of streams and swamps, with the occasional exception to mate or sleep. Baryonyx is remarkably strong, and has been seen lifting 3 meter onchopristis clear out of the water.the bite force is suprisingly weak, however. They use their huge sickle-like thumb claw in aiding catching fish, but it is also a self defense weapon. When there is a severe drought, Baryonyx tends to eat young iguanodon, but this is the only time they ever do. These spinosaurs are hyper territorial and will attack and kill anything that wanders in, but they have never been observed eating their adversary. Baryonyx typically Has a light purple underbelly and the top half of the animal is a light green color.

Megalosaurus:

File:Megalosaurus.jpg

Length: 10 m

Weight: 1.5 tons

Height: 3 m

Era: Mid Jurassic

Megalosaurus is a voracious hunter. They hunt in solitude, with the force and brute strength unrivaled on Isla Nublar. Even the Great Giganotosaurus stays clear of Megalosaurus.Because of their hunting style, adults usually have many scars..partly because of their hunting habits, partly because they aren't the smartest of animals.  Juveniles are a bit more cautious when attacking prey, but this seems to wear off with age. Megalosaurus typically come in a dull red color, with blue rings around both eyes.

FIGHT!

A huge Male Megalosaurus walks through the deep swamps of Isla Nublar. A category 7 hurricane and just blown through, and many of the animals were forced inland. The comfortorable home range of the Great Lizard was obliterated by the monster storm, and the Megalosaur was on the prowl for a new home. He wasn't familiar with the swampy place he was now in, and was very cautious with his footing. He observed a Brachiosaur aimlessly walking in and out of the water, obviously unfamiliar with this environment. The Megalosaurus was hungry, but finding a home was the first thing on his mind.

He walked along a small sandbar, and saw a fleeting glimpse of something huge and green. This peaked his curiosity, and he decided to follow the animal.  The Megalosaurus past a small grove of trees,  and witnessed a kill in progress. The large green animal had caught a juvenile Pachecephalosaur on it's large thumb claw, and was trying to free itself. The animal bit down on the pacheycephalosaurs neck, and all was silent. The Megalosaur watched the animal feed, and realized he had seen one of these before. It was a Baryonyx, and it was massive. The Megalosaur watched in awe while the spinosaur ate.

Suddenly, the spinosaur jerked its' head into the air and appeared to be sniffing. The Baryonyx looked straight into the eyes of the Megalosaurus, and they stared at each other. The Spinosaur wanted this strange beast out of his home, and hissed loudly at him. The Megalosaur still stood and stared, unaware this was his first and final chance to leave. He hid behind a nearby tree, thinking the Spinosaur couldn't see him...unfortunately for the Great lizard, his body stuck out from behind the tree.a little irritated, The Baryonyx walked towards the megalosaur and again hissed.

The Megalosaur poked his head out from behind the tree, and the spinosaur swatted at him. The Megalosaur ducked, and the claws of the spinosaur scraped the tree. The Megalosaur didn't want in part of this, and started to walk away. The baryonyx wasn't letting him leave without a final thought. The Spinosaur bit down on the tail of the lumbering megalosaur and tore a good chunk out of it. The Megalosaur yelped in pain, and spun to face his attacker. As he did, the spinosaur lunged for the mid-section of the megalosaur. The Megalosaurus inadvertently smacked the Spinosaur upside the head with his own, and now the spinosaur was furious.

She swung her arm and connected with the neck of the Megalosaurus. The large thumb claw stuck the tough hide of the megalosaur, and the spinosaur roared in frustration as he couldn't remove it. Still not getting the lethal intentions of the Spinosaur, the Megalosaur gently bit the snout of the Baryonyx, telling her to release him. The Spinosaur responed by clamping down on the snout of the begalosaur and shaking hard. The Megalosaur screeched and swung his head, but the Baryonyx held fast. As the Megalosaur jerked back, the Baryonyxs' thumb claw was freed. She raked her hand down the Megalosaurs' side, leaving deep gashes.

Only now getting the Spinosaurs' intentions, the Megalosaur went on the offensive. He shoulder checked the spinosaur, which fell into a shallow stretch of swamp. She got up and lunged for the Megalosaurs' side. She Targetd the huge open gashes, and made them even larger with  her needle-shaped teeth. The megalosaur kicked out with his masived legs and the thigh of the Baryonyx open.

The Spinosaur fell to her knees, and the Megalosaur saw an opening. He kicked out at the side of the spinosaur and she fell to the ground. The Megalosaur stomped down on her side, breaking many ribs. The Baryonyx kicked and clawed at the Great lizard, but just couldn't land a blow. The megalosaur was going in for a neck bite, when a sudden gust of wind suprised him. He looked towards the sky and saw ominous black clouds rolling towards the swamp. The loud rumbling shook the gound below him, and he whimpered in fright.

The spinosaur used the distration to get on all fours. She had a terrible pain in her side, and struggeled for breath. This didn't stop her movement however, and she lunged for the lower leg of the Megalosaur. The great lizard saw the spinosaurs' attack though, and kicked her in the face. blood gushed from the lower jaw of the Baryonyx, and she attempted to get on two feet. The megalosaur wouldn't have this, and rammed her in the side. She was fast, and was getting up when the teeth of the megalosaur punctured her neck. Using all the strength she could muster, she got onto her feet and tried to break free. The Megalosaur ran forward, his foe in his jaws, and slammed her into a tree. The jolting impact broke four ribs on the other side of the spinosaurs body, and breathing came at great difficulty.

The Great lizard tried to snap the spinosaurs' neck, but he coulldn't put enough pressure into his bite. holding the Baryonyx in his jaws, he used his brute body strength to drag her along. he searched for a way to end the fight, and spotted a small hill. Content with this, he dragged the spinosaur by the neck towards the hill. Sensing his intentions, the Spinosaur stratched at the face of the Megalosaur. She was beginning to panick, and her strikes were becoming less accurate. The Great lizard reached the edge of the hill, and using his strength, threw the spinosaur down it. The Baryonyx tumbled helplessly down the hill, feeling every  jolt of pain from the large rocks. She landed at the bottom of the hill, she noticed something red pooling around her and realized it was her own blood. She felt her life slipping away..and within a few minutes the spinosaur was dead. The Great lizard watched from the top of the hill, and resumed his search for a new home.

Winner....Megalosaurus!

The Spinosaur was larger, but the megalosaur had it's brute strength and the use of environment to it's advantage, even though this was Spinosaur territory.

Good fight.  I agree the Megalosaurus was better suited to "heavy combat."

Doing research on the two, it was overall stronger and stockier than Baryonyx. Did you guys like the longer bios and the era thing i added?

Yeah, they were nice. Personally I put Baryonyx and Megalosaurus both at about 2 tons, but that's more of a personal theory rather than "fact."

believe me, the weights seemed off to me too. Most sources put Megalosaurus at 1 ton, and at thirty or so feet that just seems odd.

Yeah. I've seen it anywhere between 20 and 33 feet long and 1-4 tons! I tend to put it at about 26-30 feet and 2 tons.

Nice fight, I expected the Megalosaurus, but I still rooted for the Baryonyx, but still great fight.

Yeah, that'll happen sometimes. I wrote a Concavenator vs Aucasaurus fight once and I was gonna have Concavenator win. Then I finished it and Aucasaurus came out on top. Sometimes, that's just how the cookie crumbles.

The fight pic was provided by DinoSteve...

Well, I had been focussing on my stories more than the fights lately. You can expect to see an occassional one soon.
