Utahraptor is probably the biggest raptor that ever lived. As one might expect, it bore the biggest sickle claws of the raptors..measuring nearly a foot long. Utahraptor lives and hunts in solitude, hunting the the multi-ton hadrosaurs and cerotopsians in the night of Isla Nublar. Utahraptor is covered in sandy brown feathers, which flush with various color during mating season.
Concavenator
Length: 8 meters
Weight: 2 tons
Height: 2 meters
Concavenator appears to be an odd mix of Spinosaur and Carcharodontosaur. While it's closely related to Carcharodontosaurs, It has an odd hump like a spinosaur( despite the fact spinosaurs had Sails) near the end of it's spinal column. It is known to act like the hump of a camel, storing fat and in times of drought, water. Concavenator is typically a light orange color with faint gray speckling all over the body, they also have feathers on the forearms and wrists, and these are used for both display for mates and intimidation of rivals.
FIGHT!
A male utahraptor is on the hunt, not for dinner, but for a mate. He's in full plumage, and has an orange glow to his feathers. He climbs to the top of a rocky outcrop looking over a nearby lake, and belts out his mating call. A nearby group of Saltasaurs notice the odd sound, but don't give it much attention. He caulked his head to the side, intently listening. He takes in the scenery, the lake is large and many sauropods come from the small forest surrounding it. Out towards the landscape, there is a vast desert with many tall dunes spotted over it. It appeared he had come to an oasis, and he hoped he could find a mate here.
After waiting a few minutes for a reply, the raptor climbs down the outcrop and towards the lake. He spots a small cave, and decides to explore it. Before he enters he belts out his mating call again, but doesn't get a reply and cautiously walks in. As he walks, he notices several skeletons of various shapes and sizes scattered about the cave. He smells the familiar smell of a dead animal, and immidiately notices the mistake he made. But before he can turn and run, a huge orange shape rams into him, pinning him against the cave wall. The raptor slumps to the ground, and looks up into the face of his attacker. The few rays of sunlight reveal a behemoth Concavenator, and it looks angry.
The raptor quickly gets to his feet, and walks towards the exit. Unfortunetly, The Concavenator blocked his path and roared out a challenge. Not wanting to fight, the raptor tried to run between the Carcharodontosaur and the cave wall, but the Concavenator caught the raptor in mid run, and flung him into the interior of the cave. Angered, the Utahraptor flashed his teeth and turned his side towards the Concavenator, displaying the bright patch of orange feathers on his side. This was the raptors first mistake.
The concavenator rushed the raptor and rammed hin into the dark interior of the cavel. The Utahraptor felt a sharp burst of pain in his side, knowing he hade busted a few ribs. Before the raptor could get to his feet, the Carcharodontosaur was ripping into his side. Squealing in pain, the raptor kicked out. He caught the Concavenator in the side of the face, and the ravenous predator released his grip. Blood gushed through the wound, and the Carcharodontosaur charged in a blind rage. The raptor was quite angered by the Concavenators attacks, and decided to go on the offensive. He jumped up onto the side of the Concavenator as it charged by and began to shred the animals side. The Concavenator violently shuddered, and the raptor was thrown off. The Utahraptor landed on his feet, and observing the way the Concavenator searched for him, noticed the Carcharodontosaur couldn't see as well as he could in the cave. The Concavenator growled lowly, and began to circle this orange intruder.
The raptor kept his eyes on the massive animal. They were some what deeper in the cave, and the Carcharodontosaur had to strain hard to see him.The male Utahraptor had made up his mind, he was going use this to his advantage and attempt to kill his attacker. He ran and jumped for the side of the Concavenator, but was too late and hit the wall. The Concavenator turned and seizing the moment, began to tear into the side of the raptor. He tore away a chunk of flesh and stepped back to eat it. As he did this, He made sure the raptor watched. He had sent his own message: you're dinner. The carcharodontosaur again rushed in, this time for the kill.
The raptor tried to kick out, but the Carcharodontosaur jerked his head away from the deadly claws, and bit into the stomach of the raptor. The Utahraptor felt his body leave the ground and knew He was now in the jaws of the behemoth Carcharodontosaur He knew his death was near, but only a few moments later, The jaws of his attacker went limp, and they both went crashing to the ground. As he became aware of his surroundings, he saw the familiar shape of a fellow Utahraptor.
It was a female, she had also been searching for a mate when she heard his mating call from a few miles away. Knowing he was a potential mate, she bagan to track his scent. to the cave, and saw him in the jaws of the concavenator, moments from death. Knowing she had to do something, she attacked. The male knew she had just saved his life, and he walked over to her with a low pur. They displayed their mating colors to each other, and began their courtship.
Winner.....Utahraptor!
Alone, the utahraptor couldn't have taken the Carcharodontosaur. But with the unexpected help of the female, The Utahraptor won at the last moments of the fight.

MemberCompsognathusJan-08-2014 11:28 PMI don't think this was very fair. If it was gonna be 2 Utahraptors, it should've been specified from the beginning.

MemberTriceratopsJan-09-2014 12:03 AMA very well written fight. That Concavenator had one nasty temper to go from a strictly territorial mode to a murder mode. And, it was quite the surprise having the female Utahraptor show up and help out her future mate.

Sinornothosaurus, that doesn't have to be the case. Sometimes the writer can surprise us by throwing in these things, and beside that, you kinda had to see it coming, with the mating calls and everything.

MemberCompsognathusJan-09-2014 9:13 AMAh, I wanted the Concavenator to win, but still a good fight and an unexspected twist at the end.

MemberCompsognathusJan-09-2014 12:02 PMI would think that Concavenator would be a season hunter longer before the other Utha Raptor he would have had the female killed.
If I could be anything I would be a Trex.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJan-09-2014 3:06 PMOf course Concavenator would be a seasoned hunter, but hunting ability has nothing to do with fighting a creature a quarter of your size and four times as agile. It didn't give a specific age for the Utahraptor, so who's to say the Utahraptor wasn't a seasoned hunter/fighter an his prime and that he has only just reached adulthood. Anywho, keep experience out of this (it wasn't mentioned, don't bother bringing it up), and enjoy the fact that this was a well written fight.
