Carnosaur
MemberCompsognathusJan-08-2014 4:10 PMCeratosaurus
Name meaning: horned lizard
Length: 7 - 9 meters
Weight: 1.5 tons
Ceratosaurus has lived in the shadow of it's 'larger ' contemporary, allosaurus. In some documentaries, Ceratosaurus has been portrayed as a weak, shy theropod that allosaurus could easily kill or scare off. I don't believe this. Ceratosaurs probably got quite large( more then the 5 meters some would like to believe) and was next to Allosaurus at the top of the food chain.
Dilophosaurus
Length: 7 meters
weight: 0.5 tons
Jurassic park brought dilophosaurus into the minds of movie goers in the early 90's. However, the depiction had a bit of sc-fi to it and the animal shown was most likely a juvenile. Dilophosaurs were apex predators of the early Jurassic, although it's commonly thought to be a piscovore or scavenger. It had large hand and feet claws, and could use these to compensate for it's 'weak ' bite.
I only covered two, but this is because i was short on time. Feel free to put others down in the comments!

MemberCompsognathusJan-08-2014 6:18 PMI do have to agree, they are underrated. I think your estimates are a bit big, like, <1 meter off, but that's still three feet.

MemberCompsognathusJan-08-2014 7:02 PMCeratosaurus is certainly one of the most underrated dinosaurs I know. Aucasaurus and Tarascosaurus are up there too.

MemberCompsognathusJan-08-2014 7:50 PM@deltadromeus they've found fossils indicating ceratosaurus got to be around 30 feet, even if it's one specimen i think it's pretty accurate.
I'll update it as soon as possible :)

MemberCompsognathusJan-08-2014 7:56 PMI see 9 meters as the max. I usually estimate it to be 8 meters long, but that's me. Either way, 1.5 tons is a little light for a 30 foot Ceratosaurus. 2 tons at least would be more likely :)

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJan-08-2014 7:59 PMSpeaking of Ceratosaurus and Dilophosaurus, I actually did a fight between the two. I think it was a successful post.

MemberCompsognathusJan-08-2014 8:10 PMYou got that right. It was originally an FBR Bonus Fight I was suppossed to do, but after FBR started slowing down, I lost a little interest in writing it. But you did a great job with it. FBR quality in my book :)

MemberCompsognathusJan-09-2014 12:15 PMBoth are very underrated dinosaurs, especially Ceratosaurus. Dilophosaurus has a slighty advantage due to its larger role in the JP franchise, that kind of launched it.
PS- I made a topic with the top ten most underrated dinosaurs some time ago. If you search the earlier threads, you could be able to find it. ;)
