8.5 m long
2 tons
3.5 m tall
A medium sized spinosaurid that spends as much time on land as in the water. Unlike other spinosaurs, Irritator's diet consists largely of small herbivores. Most notably the stegosaurs, which it quickly subdues by tearing into the side and lettihng them bleed out. They are some what social animals, and as many as sixteen have been observed on one stretch of beach. They don't seen to hunt in packs or live together however, they appear to just coexist. Irritator is a Pale grey with blue circles on the sail.
Ceratosaurus
9 m long
1.5 tons
2.5 m tall
Ceratosaurs are like the modern honey badger. Quite ferocious, and will attack anything, even if it much larger. They live primarily on isla nublar, where they hunt stegosaurs and small hadrosaurs. They must constantl'sy fight to keep their kills. Torvosaurus and Giganotosaurus are its main rivals, and ceratosaurs have learned how to fight these much larger opponents. Their population isn't very large, and because of this they must pick and choose their battles. Ceratosaurs are green with red vertical stripes, their horns - which give them their name- are brown in color.
FIGHT!
It's a foggy morning on isla nublar, and a female ceratosaurus is searching for a new territory. She had lost out on her prime stretch of forrest to a suchomimus, and now bore a burning hatred for the sailed back animals. Visibility is poor, and the ceratosaur unwittingly walks onto a stretch of beach. Unaware this is prime spinosaur territory, she moves towards the water to drink. She sees a few vague outlines of some massive animals, but can't really make them out. As she turns to the water again, a she cmall Kaprosuchus swims by. She decides that she's hungry, and snatches the crocodilian out of the water. The ceratosaur throws the kaprosuchus up onto the beach and starts to eat.
The female ceratosaurus notices the vague animals she saw not 5 minutes earlier are starting to walk towards her. As one comes closer, She notices a small but unmistakable fin of a spinosaur. She issues out a low growl and gets low to the ground ready to attack. The fog reveals an irritator twenty five feet in length, and ready to take the ceratosaurs kill. The irritator flushes blood up to its sail, making it bright red in hopes of scaring the ceratosaur off. This doesn't faze the ceratosaurus, and she stands to her full height to establish dominance over the spinosaur.
The irritator takes this chance and lunges forward, mouth agape. The eratosaurus side stepped, but not fast enough and recieved a painful bite to the side. She roars in pain, but quickly goes on the offensive. She rams into the spinosaur, her nasal horn cutting into the flesh but breaking off. She backs away, and waits for the spinosaurs next move. The irritator doesn',t want to fight he just wants the ceratosaurs dinner. he puts one foot up onto the dead crocodilian and roars at the ceratosaur, in an attempt to scare it off. This only infuriated the ceratosaurus, and she rams into him. The irritator is sent stumbling back, and the ceratosaur takes advantage. She bites into the right arm of the irritator, and shreds it.The spinosaur pulls back, but its arm is mangeled. He swings at the ceratosaur with his good arm and connects with the side of her face.
She Shakes her head and roars in fury, and goes for thle other arm of the spinosaur. As she lunges for it, the spinosaur bites down on her neck. The ceratosaur doesn't panic, but instead uses momentum and swings her head, releasing the spinosaurs grip. The two giant reptiles roar at each other, hoping to scare the other off the kill.
A huge bout of wind had kicked up the sand, and the two were pelted with the stinging grainus. Through the fog and sandstorm, the ceratosaur could see the outline of the irritator, and rushed at it's side. She jumped onto the irritator and kicked. leaving long deep gashes. The spinosaur shuddered violently and the ceratosaurus hit the ground. the foot of the irritator came crashing down, nearly missing the head of the ceratosaur. She got to her feet and rushed at the tail of the spinosaur, and was swatted to the ground. Bloodied and bruised, she looked for a way to end the fight as quickly as possible. She roared out, and when the spinosaur charged she side stepped, and bit down on the neck of the passing spinosur. Using all the strength she could muster, she forced the spinosaur to the ground. She moved towards the sail of the fallen spinosaur, and stomped it.
Feeling that was the end, she walked back to her crocodilian dinner. As she ate, she was caught off guard by the massive blow to the side. The irritator had some how gotten up, and was going for the downed ceratosaurs neck. The female ceratosaurus kicked out, and sent the spinosaur back a few feet. This gave her a moment to get to her feet and attack. The sand started to settle back to earth, and visibility was slightly better.
Furious the spinosaur had once again tried to kill her and take her food, she rushed forward. Fueled by adrenaline and anger, she went for the throat. She didn't even feel the claws of the irritator driving into her neck while she bit the throat. The ceratosaur bit down as hard as she could, and crushed the windpipe of the irritator. She threw the dying spinosaur to the ground, and resumed eating the kaprosuchus. As she decided she had her fill, she decided to send a message to all nearby spinosaurs. She began to disembowel the dead irritator, and bellowed into the noon sky. She dragged the spinosaur near a grove of trees and layed it out in the open. She again bellowed into the sky. and a nearby group of Oxalaia stood and stared. The ceratosaur had sent the message she wanted, and with that claimed the beach as her own.
Winner...Ceratosaurus!
Overall deadlier, I believe ceratosaurus is one of the most underrated animals out there. Doing some research showed me it was just plain deadly, and quite big! it proved a worthy challenge for the irritator

MemberCompsognathusJan-06-2014 2:47 PMGreat fight. I completely agree with the winner and your statement about Ceratosaurus being underrated. I do think 1 ton is a little light, especially for a 9 meter length estimate.

MemberCompsognathusJan-06-2014 3:19 PMI could have either way on who won, but I preferred Irritator, but either way it was a great long fight.

MemberCompsognathusJan-06-2014 3:21 PMCeratosaurus is my second favorite dinosaur, so naturally I was rooting for it. It's constantly in the shadow of Allosaurus. I'm always happy to see it get some press and spotlight.
