DD9097SS Backstory: Utahraptor and Rexy
Utahraptor
Utahraptor was a fifteen hundred pound Dromeasaur from the Early Cretaceous. It was fast, agile, and had a very large claw on each of its feet.
Rexy
Rexy is a Tyrannosaurus Rex. She was one of the first dinosaurs cloned by InGen, and she is huge. Her massive size is unknown to be natural, or a result of the genetic engineering, but she is about nine tons in weight, and about forty five feet long.
Begin!
There was a drought on Isla Nublar. Over half of the creatures had starved or dehydrated, and Rexy the Tyrannosaurus Rex had complete control of the main watering hole. Rexy had stolen a Parasaurolophus that the Utahraptor had killed, and he wasn't happy because it was his first kill in over a week.
He had followed Rexy to where she stays when she isn't hunting or defending the watering hole, and he saw something of interest. He wasn't sure what he saw, but he knew it would be an easy meal if he could get around Rexy. He saw it was the same height as him, but not near as big all around.
He looked at Rexy. She was distracted, busy eating the stolen carcass. His target was distracted too, holding a chunk of meat over a fire on a stick. The Utahraptor continued watching, waiting for a better chance to attack, being downwind of Rexy and his target.
His target, was looking around occasionally, and a sudden whistle got his and Rexy's attention. He was unsure what was happening, but Rexy looked directly at him and growled. She then turned back to his target, and it climbed onto her head. Rexy stood up, and his target climbed into the tree. Afterward, Rexy turned back to the Utahraptor, who was still trying to figure out what happened.
It was dark, and the Utahraptor couldn't see very well, while Rexy could see him to a degree, and the Utahraptor's eyes gleaming in the moon light giving him away. The Utahraptor had to focus to see Rexy, and he could make out her outline blocking out the stars, and at times, the moon.
Rexy continued looking at him, considering her options. He wasn't much of a threat to her, but he was a huge danger to her human companion, Robert Muldoon. She continued looking at him, unsure of what to do. The Utahraptor made the decision for her.
He attacked her legs, figuring that his superior agility could help in against his nine ton opponent. Rexy sidestepped and watched the Utahraptor, and looked up at Muldoon for a moment. She turned back to the Utahraptor and kneeled down, ready for an attack. The Utahraptor ran in circles around Rexy, and she stuck her foot out in an attempt to crush him. She had stepped too early, and tripped him instead.
She lunged, but he was out of the way before her jaws slammed shut. He attacked her, and started biting and slashing her face once he had a good grip. She shook her head side to side, and the Utahraptor fell to the ground, landing on his feet.
He looked at her again, deciding what to do, and Rexy was doing the same. The Utahraptor glanced at Muldoon, and Rexy knew where he just looked. She glanced back at Muldoon, and he nodded. Rexy turned back and growled, knowing a roar would attract too much unwanted attention.
The Utahraptor looked at her, the tone and near silence of the growl scaring him. He was used to a loud, angry growl from a large dinosaur that wanted to kill him, but not the near silent, short growl that Rexy just did.
The Utahraptor looked back into the tree, and saw something shiny and silver glisten off the moonlight, before disappearing with a click. The click was followed by two more, louder clicks, the sound of metal rubbing metal between them. The Utahraptor ran off before risking getting killed, either from Rexy, or Muldoon.
Winner...... Rexy
What were you expecting? The Utahraptor pulling off the impossible and defeating a T-Rex, no way! Larger, stronger, and defending her best friend, Rexy was the hands down winner the whole time, and hunger drove the Utahraptor to attack in the first place.
I have one more bonus fight, so I could write one more to make three. Any two dinosaurs you want, two most popular are the combatants. It can take place in Jurassic Park 2015 and beyond in the new park if you want as well.

MemberCompsognathusJan-01-2014 9:08 AMThe winner was inevitable and I do have one problem, Utahraptor and other raptors could see better than any Tyrannosaur. it has been proven on many occasions that raptors have owl eyes.

MemberCompsognathusJan-01-2014 11:51 AMNice fight, I knew Rexy would win, I like the part where Muldoon shoot at the Utahraptor.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJan-01-2014 1:49 PMHe didn't shoot at it, but he was about to. That was just the loading and chamfering process of a pump action shotgun (SPAS 12 is semi-automatic and pump, so it could have a round chambered via pumping, and then be switched to semi).

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJan-01-2014 4:38 PMI added that as the final scare to get rid of the Utahraptor. In some situations, loading and chamfering a pump action can be just as effective as shooting. When I said silver, I was thinking of the target rounds I usually use, i meant copper/bronze, those are the hunting rounds.

MemberCompsognathusJan-01-2014 9:12 PMI wonder how Muldoon and Rexy became friends? You should write a story about that.

MemberCompsognathusJan-13-2015 6:35 PMwhy do u say its impossible for utahraptor to defeat rexy? utahraptor was smarter, t rex was stronger but raptor was faster and more agile, t rex had teeth and bite force, but the sickle claw was just as deadly, especially when used as a hook to climb up a larger animal's side, like a tyrannosaurus and the only advantage rex has over the raptor is that it is tougher, so...
