Death Duels 9097 Small Sector Round 1 Fight 4: Aucasaurus vs Irritator
Aucasaurus
Aucasaurus was a twenty foot long, one ton Abelisaur from Late Cretaceous South America. It had a bite force around one thousand PSI, and probably was a solitary hunter, or hunted in pairs with a mate.
Irritator
Irritator was a twenty three foot, one ton Spinosaur from Mid Cretaceous South America. Being a Spinosaur, it's diet likely consisted mostly of fish, and as with most Spinosaurs, the hand claws could be useful weapons in combat.
Begin!
An Irritator is fishing. He has been successful so far, catching at least three fish, and planning on catching one more. He looks into the river, and just before he swipes at at a fish, he sees a reflection. He turns around to see an Aucasaurus ten feet behind him, ready to attack. The Aucasaurus charges, going straight for the Spinosaur's neck. The attack missed, and the Irritator slashed the Abelisaur's neck.
The Aucasaurus turned and faced the Irritator. The Irritator looked at the Aucasaurus, and saw that they were both knee deep in water. He knew all he would have to do to win this fight is to get the Abelisaur to about waist deep water, and then he could do whatever he wanted. He mock charged, and the Aucasaurus attacked. The Irritator pushed the Aucasaurus, and it realized what the Irritoator wanted to do. The Aucasaurus walked back to solid ground, and the Irritator looked at him, frustrated.
They look each other in eye, and neither moved. They both stood where they felt most comfortable, and both were growing impatient. The Irritator attacked first, slashing the Aucasaurus's face. The Aucasaurus tried to bite the Irritator's arm and failed, getting slashed again. The Aucasaurus looked at the Irritator, and the Irritator was living up to its name.
They walked in circles, and neither broke eye contact. When the Irritator noticed the water behind the Aucasaurus, he charged, pushing it back into the water. The Aucasaurus was past knee deep in the river, and the Irritator was charging him again. The Aucasaurus tried to sidestep, movement being slow and awkward in the water. The Irritator pushed the Aucasaurus deeper into the river, and the current carried it off.
The Irritator looked down the river, watching his opponent being carried off. The Aucasaurus managed to struggle back to shore, and then walked around trying to get used to solid ground again. The Irritator, being an excellent swimmer, had swam upstream following the Aucasaurus, and he remained almost completely submerged. The Aucasaurus looked at the river, feeling he was being watched, but he didn't know by what. He didn't see the Irritator, only his eyes and nostrils exposed. He turned around, and the Irritator slowly snuck up behind him. The Irritator bit the Aucasaurus's neck and slashed his sides. The Aucasaurus jumped from the surprise, and that brought the Irritator's teeth deeper into his neck, narrowly missing his jugular.
The Irritator continued slashing, and the Aucasaurus tried to pull himself free. When he finally did, the Irritator's teeth severed his jugular, causing him to bleed out at the Irritator's feet. The Irritator roared in victory, and then ate his opponent.
Winner..... Irritator
The fight was rather even, both being about the same size. Irritator had the home turf advantage, and the element of surprise.

MemberCompsognathusDec-16-2013 3:09 PMYes, he had the river advantage... Well,I guess. Unexpected happenings are more common than expected ones, if that makes sense to you.
