Death Duels 9097 Small Sector Round 1 Fight 1: Deinonychus vs Masiakasaurus
Deinonychus
Deinonychus was a Dromeasaur from the Early Cretaceous. It hunted in packs of around eight members, and it's favoured meal was Tenontosaurus. At thirteen feet long and three hundred pounds, even one would be intimidating. Much like any other Dromeasaur, Deinonychus used claws instead of jaws, and with the sickle claw being six inches long, it didn't need to use its jaws.
Masiakasaurus

Masiakasaurus was a small Abelisaur from Late Cretaceous Madagascar. It was primitive for an Abelisaur, and had long arms, and forward facing teeth ideal for catching small prey. It was about ten feet long and two hundred pounds. It likely hunted small mammals and lizards, and possibly fish, utilizing its strange teeth.
Begin!
A lone Deinonychus is walking through the jungles of Isla Nublar, having been recently kicked out of his pack by the alpha. He was a large Deinonychus, and he had a reputation in the pack, but was still too much of a threat to keep around.
A Masiakasaurus is watching the lone Deinonychus, waiting for his moment to strike, knowing if he can kill or land a good blow, the meal is as good as his. The Masiakasaurus hasn't eaten in a week, and is getting desperate, so this meal would keep him going for a week.
The Masiakasaurus charged when the Deinonychus was within ten feet, but he sensed it, and sidestepped from the unseen attacker. He looked at the Masiakasaurus, that was now visible in front if him and roared a challenge. The Masiakasaurus hesitates, but roars in response.
They walk in circles, not breaking eye contact, and the Deinonychus planning his next move. He sees he's larger than his strange toothed opponent, but he knows that the teeth may be an issue. The Masiakasaurus is working out the Deinonychus's weakness, and doesn't see any that he could exploit.
Suddenly, without warning, they both charge at the same time, the Masiakasaurus being knocked back, and the Deinonychus ran right past him, which may have saved him right there. The Deinonychus turned around and looked at the winded Masiakasaurus, and went for his signature maneuver. He jumped as high as he could, and he was about to slam his claws right into the Masiakasaurus's back, but it managed to roll over and kick up, hitting the Deinonychus in the chest, breaking bone and causing some internal bleeding.
The Deinonychus spits up some blood, and then looks around for the Masiakasaurus, which seems to have disappeared. Some leaves rustling got his attention, and the Masiakasaurus charged again. The Deinonychus swung out with his hand claws and they hit their mark, square in the Masiakasaurus's face. The Masiakasaurus roared in pain, and the Deinonychus tried to dislodge his claws from the Masiakasaurus's face.
The Deinonychus suddenly realized that he had just completely disabled his primitive opponent, and he kicked out with his leg, causing a massive gash from the Masiakasaurus's chest to hips. The Masiakasaurus roared in pain, and the Deinonychus slashed it's face and then kicked out again, this time ripping him open.
The Deinonychus gave a sudden jerk, and managed to dislodge his claws from his dying opponent. He watched as the Masiakasaurus dropped, and then closed his eyes and died.
Winner..... Deinonychus
Larger, faster, smarter, better armed, the Deinonychus had the advantage from the beginning.

MemberCompsognathusDec-13-2013 3:06 PMThe Deinonychus pictures are awesome, especially the first!
And I hope that too, but, after "A new world" (I'm sorry for this) it's very unlikely that will happen. :(

MemberTyrannosaurus RexDec-13-2013 3:17 PMI know, it was a little disappointing after New World didn't do as good as I hoped. Oh well, it was fun writing them.

MemberCompsognathusDec-13-2013 3:27 PMIt's always fun writing stories.
And yes, I do. It's a shame they are so few: you, me, RexFan, and TLK, althought he's more on the SB. I know he does read all the topics though.
So, we're three-four. Disappointing for a 22.000+ members site.

MemberCompsognathusDec-13-2013 7:49 PMIt's a shame, that's for sure. Delta was pretty frequent, then he kinda went quite after Jurassic Operations(now Jurassic Genetics) was released as a topic. Still, I like reading all the fights, stories, and discussions posted.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexDec-13-2013 9:02 PMI know. For me, I have nothing better to do, and I don't sleep easily. I like these forums, and I'm glad I found them.
My favourite picture is actually the Deinonychus victory picture
