Common Megalosaur sense

I was looking Edmarka when I noticed something odd. The max weight estimates where only 3 tons. I though "okay, but that doesn't make sense". We all know that Allosaurs are lighter than Megalosaurs ight? So why is Allosaurus amplexus, Saurophaganax, and Yangchuanosaurus heavier than it? Especially since its always shown as super thick.it has also been describes as the peak of theropod sizes pr something along those lines. Using that logic, I think it has to be heavier, 6 tons, not 3.

Well, I consider Edmarka being no more than a Torvosaurus synonim, so I give it something around 2,5-4 tons in weight, and that is quite good for a 11m long animal. Furthermore, I don't really see allosaurids being all the time lighter than megalosaurids. For example, A.amplexus and Saurophaganax are pretty large beasts!

I'm With DinoSteve about Edmarka being synonymous with Torvosaurus. As for weight I would put him at around 4.5 Tons.

3-4.5 tons. I have hard time seeing Torvosaurus/Edmarka getting to be the 6-8 ton beast some say it was. All the large theropods from that time were about 2-4 tons in weight, so why would there be any major difference between them and Edmarka/Torvosaurus(major difference equals 1+ tons)?
