MemberCompsognathusOct-22-2013 3:39 PMDon't act like you haven't changed your theories in some way shape or form over the years. We all have. Here's the theory I changed the most.
My Old Theory:
Before JP III was released, I was aware of Spinosaurus. Did I think much of it? No, not really. I just thought it was another large theropod. Then JP III was released. At the same time, I learned about Giganotosaurus. Suddenly, I thought there were two theropods that were bigger and badder than T-rex. I assumed that Spinosaurus was a 60 ft long, 12 ton killing machine that could beat a T-rex, Giganotosaurus was a 50 ft long, 10 ton monster from the South, and T-rex was, at 40-43 ft long and 5-6.5 tons, the biggest predator from the North(but smaller than Spino and Giga). That's right. I haven't always believed T-rex to be the biggest land predator ever.
Changing My Theory:
After a while, I realized that I can't just go off of what everyone else says. I have to do my own research and draw my own conclusions. After studying T-rex, Giga, and Spino more, I started thinking differently. I noticed how robust T-rex was compared to the other two(in my opinion). That's when I started thinking differently.
My Current Theory:
Now, I believe something very different from my old theory. i now place T-rex ahead of Spino and Giga at 40-50 ft long and 7-10 tons. I reduced Giga to 40-46 ft long and 7-8 tons or so, and Spino at 53-56 ft long and 5-7 tons(8 at the absolute most). I actually gave a much lighter estimate for Spino(4-6 tons), but I had recently revised this.

So what are some of your old theories and how have they changed?

MemberCompsognathusOct-22-2013 3:54 PMWell, right now I can't remember, but it's nice that you have changed your theory about T-rex intime, as you now have solid arguments to prove our theory

Deltadromeus
MemberCompsognathusOct-22-2013 4:18 PMI recently changed my theory of Deltadromeus being 1.5 tons. That's way too heavy. I think it a around 1 ton ,ax now.
Hi

MemberCompsognathusOct-22-2013 8:39 PMI too have recently lowered my Delta weight estimates. I put it down from 2 tons to about 1 ton. Changed by site to fit that accordingly.
PS- With the possible exception of Dandakosaurus (very fragmentary and heavily debated size estimations) this makes Ceratosaurus itself the largest ceratosaur(not counting the later abelisaurs). Delta was close(possibly longer), but Ceratosaurus was probably heavier.

MemberCompsognathusOct-23-2013 6:12 AMOk, now I remember. 3 or 4 years ago I was a very obstinate
anty-feathers believer, but I changed recently my theory, as you can see most of my dino-drawings have a lot of feathers in them. Now I think at least Deinonychosauria, Therizinosauridae, Alvarezsauridae and Oviraptoridae had feathers. Maybe even Tyrannosaurus. ;)

The forgotten king
MemberCompsognathusOct-23-2013 1:22 PMHow about there is no king of the dinosaurs, just because they are all amazing creatures, no matter the size. I would call Rex Tyrant of the North

MemberCompsognathusOct-23-2013 1:29 PMWell, Rex's king of the dinosaurs, not because of size, but because it's just the most famous dinosaur. It's king in popular coulture, and it's very hard to change that. Other than this, you're right, all dinosaurs are amazing in their own way. :)

MemberCompsognathusOct-23-2013 2:44 PMYes, SpinoBro, all the dinosaurs were amazing in their own right. However, Tyrannosaurus rex does mean tyrant lizard king for a reason ;)

Lord Vader
MemberTyrannosaurus RexOct-23-2013 3:04 PMI was going to say that Rex Fan. Tyrannosaurus Rex literally translates to Tyrant Lizard King, so it's kinda hard to not say that Rex is the King.

MemberCompsognathusOct-23-2013 3:33 PMI get what you mean, I think torvosaurus was the knight sof the dinosaurs. And ceratosaurus...... I see him as the court jester because of his teeth which give it a devilish smile

MemberCompsognathusOct-23-2013 3:53 PMCeratosaurus was the assassin, Torvosaurus was the knight(the largest were European after all), Raptors were the spies, Spinosaurus was the Pharaoh, Giganotosaurus was the Lord, and T-rex was the King, haha
So, back to the main topic at hand. You guys have any old theories?

Gigadino
MemberCompsognathusOct-31-2013 9:49 AMWell, Spinosaurus at 5-7 tons is anorexic, too light. Spinosaurus at 5-7 t must be 12-13 m, when it was 16 m! Spinosaurus is very likely larger than Rexy at 11 t +, Giganotosaurus is longer than Rexy at 41 ft +.
Ok my old theory about Rexy is that it was 14 m long. Then I learned that 14 m is just exagerrated, more like to 12,3 m.

MemberCompsognathusNov-01-2013 5:50 AMi dont call it old theori, but here is my size estimanation for giganotosaurus:Your text to link here....

MemberCompsognathusNov-01-2013 11:16 PM14 meters is not an exaggeration. It's an estimation.
And why can't Spinosaurus be light weight for it's length?
Diplodocus- 80-100 ft and only 15-20 tons
Titanoboa- 36-46+ ft and only 1 ton
Deltadromeus- 23-26 ft long and only 1-1.5 tons
See my point?
