The neotype Carcharodontosaurus is possibly 46 feet and 9 tons, judging by fragments. A common myth is that Mapusaurus was 33 to 36 feet. However, that is merely because they were found in a pack and only subadults usually compose a pack as they are faster and much more active. Adult fragments have been found, including a pubis suggesting a 14 meter individual. It wouldn't be slim as most people think. Juvenile dinosaurs are gracile, which is where the "thinner than Giga" myth came from. So would Mapusaurus defeat Carcharodontosaurus? Or could the African land shark pull it off?

MemberCompsognathusSep-27-2013 3:39 PMIt would be a really close fight. I think maybe Mapusaurus would win most of the time.

MemberCompsognathusSep-27-2013 3:42 PMSpyrannosaurus, can we not say something's a myth? Just because it's something you and maybe a few other people don't agree with, doesn't mean it's a myth. It just means it's a different theory.
I think Mapusaurus would have a good chance at winning because it's a more advanced carcharodontosaur. Carcharodontosaurus might be a little bigger, but it was not quite as smart and such. It'd be close.

MemberCompsognathusSep-27-2013 3:52 PMI'd say Carch. I mean, 9 tons, that seems a bit crazy though. That's a 50 foot Giganotosaurus weight, so for a 46 foot Carcharodontosaurus, I think that it is crazy.

MemberCompsognathusSep-28-2013 4:29 PMNot really a crazy estimate. If a 40 foot T. rex (Sue) was 8.2 t, a not-so-much-slimmer carcharodontosaur that is 6 feet longer could weigh 9 t.

MemberCompsognathusFeb-15-2014 1:53 AMI think it be Carchar who'd come out victorious.(most of the time anyway)
Youre fat, and I'm not sugarcoating it cause you'd probably eat that too.
