Utahraptor

Partially because my first story focuses on Utahraptor, and partially because I like this raptor, I'm making a discussion about him. Utahraptor was the largest dromeasaur so far. It's current standing in size is 25 feet long, 6 feet tall, and 1000lbs, but I think it could get up to 8 feet tall and 1500 pounds. He was armed with extra long hand claws, amazing eye sight, a large brain for a dinosaur, and a 1 foot toe claw backed by extremely powerful legs. It could run at 20 mph for a short time, probably to get away from its one main threat, Acrocanthosaurus. It also lived with Dienonychus, but it probably wasn't to much of a threat to Utahraptor. Utahraptor also lived in a place and time where there was an occasional sauropod. It is wondered whether or not Utahraptor hunted in packs, but I think they would have a large gathering to take down a lost sauropod, which, if the kill was successful, would last them a long time. Utahraptor was a more primitive raptor, and most likely didn't have feathers, except for maybe a bright neck plume. It also wasn't the smartest raptor, but it didn't have to be because its main prey where probably Iguanadon and Tenontosaurus, which would provide a very decent meal. It also might have encountered Gastonia from time to time, but most likely just ignored it. As for Utahraptor visuals, they are below. Thank you for reading.

Without doubt the most powerful of all dromeosaurids. Now, and probably out of topic, there is a curious dromaeosaurid velociraptor-like but with a size close to Utharaptor (16 ft) and, as if that were not enough, with short arms like a T.Rex. It is called Austroraptor, look at some illustrations... Back to the topic was so great to see these predators, grouped in packs, chasing a Iguanodon in Walking with Dinosaur. That was better than the battle against Gastonia IMO.

Some undescribed Utahraptor fossils are estimated to put it at 35 feet long, but these fossils are awaiting study.

I've herd about Ausrtraptor's short arms, but Akillibator has long droeasaur arms. Also I don't think Utahraptor could get to 35 feet long. I've read about that two.

I estimate Utahraptor to be a little smaller than most think. About 16 ft long, 6.5 ft tall, and 800-1000 lbs on the average. Max size of 20 ft long and 1,500 lbs. But that's just me. Because it was a more primitive raptor, I don't think they hunted in packs. Maybe as a mated pair, but not in packs like Velociraptor or Deinonychus. If you want a good book about Utahraptor, read Raptor Red. Really good book.

I mean like more of a mated pair, but to take down something big, they might form a temporary alience, like the one Dinofights had in his Akillobator vs Dienonychus.
