MemberCompsognathusJun-20-2013 2:29 PMI personally think that JP4 should stick with the dinos from Jurassic Park 1 and The Lost World: Jurassic Park. If we include new dinos, how will they be incorporated into the story (we don't even have a back story to the spino). Colin should avoid adding new dinos and stick with the regulars. What do you guys think?
PS: NO FEATHERS!!!! (If you would like explanation please request here thanks ;))

MemberCompsognathusJun-20-2013 6:53 PMThe Spino does have a backstory. It was thought to be a Baryonyx because it didn't have a sail as a juvenile. I think JP4 should have Carnotaurus as a secondary villain, much like the Velociraptors. Others could make cameos.

MemberCompsognathusJun-20-2013 8:17 PMI think new dinosaurs can be dangerous, no pun intended. It has not gone over well before. Not to mention the fact that, some people might start to think, "Holy cow, where do they keep all these dinosaurs?" There is only so much room on those islands. A few new ones for a cameo and maybe one or two could have a somewhat major role as a side antagonist or something.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJun-20-2013 8:18 PMWith the return to Nublar, I can only see adding Metriacanthosaurus. Did anyone else notice when Nedry was stealing the embryos, the sticker that said Metriacanthosaurus? That is why I think Metri would be the best chance for a new dinosaur.

MemberCompsognathusJun-20-2013 8:21 PMI saw that. A minor antagonist perhaps. I'm sure you see what I mean when I say that they can only have so many dinosaurs and if they keep adding and adding, it's just gonna get to be too much.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJun-20-2013 8:24 PMI didn't actually see your post until just now because I started before you posted. I agree that there can only be so many dinosaurs on the islands (time for two more!). I could see Metri being second or third just because the Raptors are every bit as important as T-Rex (more if you ask Jack Horner).

MemberCompsognathusJun-20-2013 8:26 PMNo disrespect to Jack Horner, but I strongly disagree with just about every theory he has. Just sayin.

Now state one of your beliefs.
T-Rex is strictly a scavenger.
Why are there healed bite marks on Triceratops fossils from Rex?
Rex thought it was asleep, bit, Trike woke up and scared Rex
away.
Ok, NEXT!!!!!

MemberCompsognathusJun-20-2013 8:51 PMI'm sure that Tyrannosaurus scavenged from time to time, but then again, what predator would not do that? It's really just common sense. I tend to agree with Philip Currie, Peter Larson, Robert Bakker, and a few other scientists out there.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJun-20-2013 8:54 PMI know, I mean, what scavenger needs a 9 ton bite force? I am pretty sure that every carnivore in the history of forever would scavenge.

MemberCompsognathusJun-20-2013 8:58 PMExactly! Or binocular vision for that matter. A strong sense of smell and small arms does not mean the animal is a scavenger. The sense of smell can be used to track prey when it's out of earshot or out of sight. As far as the arms, they could be used as meat hooks or something. Besides, wolves, hyenas, eagles, crocs, sharks, and many other modern day carnivores are successful hunters and they don't use their front feet. Heck, the abelisaurs had smaller arms than T-rex, and no one ever thought they were pure scavengers.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJun-20-2013 9:01 PMRex's arms could hold up to something like 500 pounds each, so they could be used to hold something in place, or during mating, but not much.

MemberCompsognathusJun-20-2013 9:05 PMNo, probably not, but like I said, why does a carnivore need long arms to be a predator? It's simple, it does not. That's a fact, we see that in modern animals and they are all we have when it comes to seeing how dinosaurs behaved. Behavior does not change. Every living thing has the same basic behavior in the end.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJun-20-2013 9:10 PMSomething with a 9 ton bite force does not need strong arms. It's arms should be strong enough to help it get up, and that is it.

MemberCompsognathusJun-21-2013 5:16 PMI suppose it was when Billy was trying to figure it out in JP3 after the first Spino attack.
As far as the topic goes, I think they should just stick to using the dinos who we all know and love in the jp franchise, T-Rex and the Velociraptors are the stars of the franchise but I could see Metriacanthosaurus making an appearance as a 3rd villain. I'd really love to see an underwater dinosaur as well.
