MemberCompsognathusJun-04-2013 3:24 PMNow, before I even start, all you diehard Spino fans calm down. This is not about who is bigger or who would win!
What if Tyrannosaurus was discovered only a few years ago? Or if he just got his fame a few years ago? Would we all be saying that it was the biggest or baddest just because he was the most recently discovered giant carnivore? Think about it. It's an interesting question. Our beloved T-rex might be Spinosaurus or Giganotosaurus or Carcharodontosaurus instead and T-rex may be the equivalent of one of those other 3.
That's one reason why I think Tyrannosaurus should be taken more seriously as a contender for biggest land carnivore. If it was the new greatest thing in the dinosaur world, would we all be saying it was the biggest? New discoveries don't always mean that old ones are irrelevant. It's an interesting question and I think it has a ring of truth to it.
This is not a debate! Just a calm discussion about a question that has not been considered yet. I am tired of all these arguments between people like Spinosaurus Rex and FACT DUDE along with other diehard Spino fans and diehard Rex fans. Is that understandable? If you understand, feel free to comment on the question. If you don't and just plan on making a big argument, then don't ever consider commenting.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJun-04-2013 5:33 PMIf T-Rex was recently discovered, then people probably would be pissed that T-Rex won. I think Rex was discovered first because who would look in the desert or deep in the rainforest?

MemberCompsognathusJun-04-2013 7:02 PMHe'd probably be just another theropod. He'd be a Mapusaurus or Tyrannotitan. Cool, but just not very famous. He would be a little more prominent because of his arms and bite force, but scientists wouldn't be interested enough in him. If Spinosaurus took his place in history, for example, and T-Rex beat Spino in JP3, then people would be pretty pissed off. They'd be like "how the fruk did this little stubby armed thing beat the king?", but same goes with if Giganotosaurus was discovered first or even Carcharodontosaurus. Rex would easily have been replaced. When Rex was discovered, it was right place right time. He had an interesting look, and Triceratops attributed to his fame as well. Spinosaurus didn't have a classic enemy, really, so it wouldn't have achieved the fame T-Rex did, but it would still be above T-Rex if he was discovered just recently. The entire world would be different.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexJun-06-2013 2:58 PMThanks. Are you referring to the people pissed of if Rex won if it was only recently discovered? Or the desert and rainforest part? Or both? Just wondering because it is kinda rare to get a compliment from you/have you agree with a Rex fan (no offence).
