MemberCompsognathusApr-28-2013 10:33 AMid really like a real jurassic park and we can make one we have the technology to make real life dinosaurs we just dont know how to
also theres a reason why when dinosaur alive is only in its exhibit for a month or so its because the animatronics to it cost a lot of money. to make a herd of self dependant brachiasaurs there about 50 feet tall and weigh about 5 tons now times all that by 10 and then add in 50 other dinosaurs its a very very large number
seeing how one stegosaurus to it might cost about 150,00.00 give or take its a lot of money being thrown around and the thing is why do it
were so preoccupied with if we can do it we havent stopped to think if we should

MemberCompsognathusApr-28-2013 8:35 PMYeah, I'd much rather see a real life jurassic park too with real dinosaurs. Plus, you've already got robotic dinosaurs at local them parks like disney and universal studios. As well as other places.

MemberCompsognathusApr-28-2013 10:27 PMyes but some of disneys animatronics are nothing compared to S.W.S.'s dinosaurs
i was on splash mountain once and nothing was working the rides maybe 5 minutes long it took us 30 minutes to go through it
and the ones at universal dont really do much other then scare the crap out of you
if someone invested a lot of money into something like this its a very profitable idea it seems a bit cheaper then cloning dinosaurs (genetics costs a lot and even getting the DNA costs more) but in cost there very simular one is nature the other is furutre....
which will you chose?

MemberCompsognathusApr-28-2013 10:44 PMI personally just think considering genetic cloning of dinosaurs is impossible since you cannot retrieve the genetic material that this is the next best thing... Plus the robots that Disney and universal use in their theme parks couldn't be compared to what walking with dinosaurs used plus they can move a round a level area without a track then it would be very close to the actual thing.
Even though it would be expensive

MemberCompsognathusApr-29-2013 5:11 PMi wonder why they never out any of the really interesting dinosaurs on walking with dinosaurs, like spinosaurus, carnotaurus, and dilophosaurus

MemberCompsognathusApr-29-2013 10:21 PMI've already said this once and im too lazy to remember it so im going to copy and paste it from my thread of a real jurassic park
"Have you ever finished one of the jurassic park movies and ever thought "wow what if jurassic park was real" well it could be. now that does sound far fetched but when Michael Crichton wrote the first jp he wasn't far off. but first let me tell you why using the amber technique wouldn't work when blood is held for a long time it begins to decompose and is no longer useable but by using a different technique you can get still get some DNA let me list the ways: 1 by grinding the bones you can get some DNA (not a lot) 2 if a dinosaurs fossil was well preserved some nutrients/DNA from the dinosaur will be preserved 3 if a dinosaur was frozen in ice or stuckin a bog it'll probably be well preserved enough to get DNA. now you cant use a frog (well you could you'd just get a man eating frog/tyrannosaur that hops around and eats flys) so another thing you can use is a chicken by filling in the gaps with chicken DNA and then inserting it into a chicken embryo you'd get a basic theropod ( walks on 2 legs) chicken/Dino hybrid now you have to keep breeding the results and you'll most likely end up with a carnivorous dinosaur.
now to get a basic sauropod (walks on 4 legs) its a lot more complicated and takes more DNA manipulating you'd have to use a different animal you could still use chicken you just have to genetically alter it to walk on four legs and repeat breeding
now the million doller question is should we? well thats for you to choose not me. just consider what ingen went threw it would be highly expensive to stable and feed these. but how cool would it be to have a pet parasaurlophus or raptor in your backyard?"
well thats from my one post hope it helped

MemberCompsognathusMay-30-2013 3:25 PMYou know, jack Horner was on some show called TED and the clip is on google. He said that a chicken starts out w teethe but the tooth making genes are genetically turned off and they disappear. It also has a tail in its egg, yet genetics turn it off. Scientists have already turned on the teeth gene and are working on a tail and hands to make a raptor like "Chickenosaurus". Watch the video on YouTube!!!!

MemberCompsognathusJun-01-2013 6:11 AMmaybe the animatronics could walk around and roar at people? maybe it could be set in post Dino breakout jp?

MemberCompsognathusJun-03-2013 4:06 PMRobotics aren't the most trustworthy thing to give killing claws and a mind of there own to, IE portal, i robot etc. ALSO were making way more breakthroughs with technology that it'll be much easier just to clone them... i my self prefer grants view of technology and how alien it is... i prefer the real thing, not just some cold mechanical creation i want a heart beat, a feeling...
