I'd just be interested to know - what is the biggest candidate in your opinion for a Jurassic Park IV super-predator? Leaving Rex and Spino out of this debate, other than these two dinosaurs, what super-predator do you want to see? Or are you so in love with either Rex or Spino that you don't want them replaced?? -J

A pack of Albertosaurus would be cool. A bunch of mini T-rexes running 30+ miles per hour. Mapusaurus would be cool too. I would like to see an abelisaur of some kind. Whether it be Carnotaurus, Tarascosaurus, Majungatholus, I really don't care. I just think they should get some recognition.

I'd like to see Utahraptor it would own. Maby a crocodile like sarocosuchus or deinosuchus. I wouldn't want to baryonyx or suchomimas because they r too much like Spinosaurus.

Liopleurodon wasn't even close to the size of a blue whale. It was maby 50 feet in length at max. It's skull was only 5 feet. A Blue whale has a 19 foot skull.

I know, T.rex was the most powerful of all, but apart from tyrannosaurids (T.Rex, Daspletosaurus, Tarbosaurus) the second most powerful were the Carcharodontosaurids (Giganotosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, Mapusaurus, Tyrannotitan).

guys were not going to see velociraptor replaced or another dromeasaurid of its size in the fourth instalment for one reason IT WOULDN'T WORK velociraptor was about knee height they switch its name around with that of another dromeasurid (cant remember its name) because velociraptor sounded more fierce.

They used the size of Deinonychus. It's skull was also more like that of Deinonychus. Like you said, Velociraptor just has a better ring to it, plus, it's a little easier to say, haha. Perhaps they should have a Therizinosaurus. Not as a superpredator of course, but those things are pretty cool. They're big, 35 feet long and 3-4 tons, and they have 10 foot arms with 3 foot claws! Maybe a Therizinosaur could face off against a big meat-eater, like Spinosaurus or T-rex, and use it's claws to defend itself. Just a thought

I am looking at both lioplurodon and kronosaurus. look at the kronosaurus.
They show extreme intelligence; even problem solving intelligence. Especially the big one. We bred eight originally, but when she came in, she took over the pack and killed all but two of the others.

Personally, I prefer T-Rex to keep his main role as the big super predator out to get ya but if they are to have another one (not Spino) then I think a marine dinosaur is the way to go, either a Leopluradon or Mosasaur will do.

I believe that there should be an ocean scene with a new ocean predator . . . Liopleurodon and Megalodon should have a fight around a ship, maybe?

If JP4 takes place in one of the islands we already know (Isla Nublar & Ilsa Sorna), I don't think there could be a new superpredator... Ingen already created Tyrannosaurus and Spinosaurus, and that's enough, 3 species of giant carnivores just couldn't live together on such small islands... But to hell logic and continuity, I'd really like to see Carnotaurus. I know it was not as big as T. Rex, but it was still 9 meters long, and it was a very swift runner, it had two big horns on its head and its neck and jaws were designed to deliver quick slashing wounds. Carnotaurus just seems to be a very cool dinosaur to include in a movie. Also, I like the idea of an ocean predator, but I don't see how it could fit in the movie... Ingen just would not have created a monster that could have swum away and attack every fisherman it met... Not very discreet! But still awesome!

I think Acrocanthosaurus. Besides a large mouth like trex or giga, It had large claws that it used to take down larger Dinos like sauropods (brachio could be attacked) and it has a little spine on its back like Spino, but it kills in a whole nother way.

Thanks, JVANNEST! I forgot about dapsletosaurus, a close relative of tyrannosaurus, they could duke it out bc daps had longer arms but Trex was still heavier.

Carnotaurus or adult Dilophosaurus. The new predator doesn't have to be huge, it can be an elusive creature with a peculiar ability like the chameleon like effect of carnotaurus in the TLW novel. I think it can bring great suspenseful moments to the JP movie and stay original/true to the source material.

@Dinotrypod I would definitely love to see an underwater predator. It hasn't been done before (at least in respect to JP) and it could create suspense and thrill for audiences. It would certainly help Trevorrow and crew to deliver on an "epic" scale. However I think having a fight between two MASSIVE underwater creatures would take up too much screen space and possibly add a cheesy factor. One predator swimming around causing chaos is plenty, in my opinion. @Bombillazo I also agree that the predator doesn't have to be big to be epic! Thanks everyone for your input!

Before I give my hopes for a new superpredator, I would like to point out that Allosaurus wasn't as small of a carnivore as people seem to think. Two dinosaurs, both Saurophaganax and Epanterias, were the biggest carnivorous dinosaurs of the Jurassic (alongside Torvosaurus). They were easily the same size as predators like Tyrannosaurs. And both Saurophaganax and Epanterias are likely actually new species Allosaurus, as recent studies have shown. This would mean if Allosaurus was featured in a Jurassic Park film, the producers would be more than capable of masking it size up against a T-rex, and maybe even a Spino.

However, the superpredator I would love to see in the new JP is Mapusaurus, or a similar Giganotosaurid (like Giganotosaurus or Carcharodontosaurus). Mapusaur's were killing machines, and would of preyed on massive sauropods, such as Saltasaurus and Argentinosaurus if they hunted in packs (which they likely did). I would also like to see some dinosaurs from the original JP novels, like Carnotaurus with it's made up chameleon ability, and Apatosaurus as the new giant. And why not include the Nodosaurid, Crichtonsaurus. I mean, it was named after Michael Crichton (the author of the Jurassic Park and Lost World novels) after all!
