Since the summer we've known Jurassic World 2 would introduce a new hybrid Dinosaur to the franchise, following in the steps of the Indominus Rex. A slip of the tongue by producer Frank Marshall (below) prematurely revealed the name of the sequel's new antagonistic hybrid - the Indoraptor.
In Jurassic World Vic Hoskins made reference to InGen's plans of wanting to create a hybrid Dinosaur like the Indominus Rex, but on a smaller scale - one that he thought could be used effectively in combat by the US military. The Indoraptor was to be and apparently will still be the result of that progression within InGen's gene splicing projects.
While marketing for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has been relatively nonexistant lately, licensors of merchandise for the film are wasting no time unveiling early artwork and previews of their upcoming Jurassic World 2 product listings. The most recent batch of products may very well be teasing the Indoraptor!
Our friends at Jurassic Outpost spotted the following product images which seem to tease the skin and claw of the Indoraptor - in similar fashion with how Universal teased the Indominus Rex's skin pattern and jaw throughout Jurassic World's product marketing.
The claw reaching through the cage bars (top right) has a poseable thumb, insinuating this new hybrid may be even more resourceful and intelligent than its T-Rex-infused predecessor. Opening doors will be the least of our worries with this new Dinosaur. The skin texture as well shows smaller scale patterns, which insinuate a smaller build, again unlike the Indominus Rex's scale patterns.
Along with the Indoraptor tease, the text reading "Escape the Island" further confirms that Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will see a massive evacuation of the Dinosairs on Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna as a result of an errupting volcano.
