A sequel to Gareth Edwards' Jurassic World Rebirth is reportedly already in active development at Universal Pictures! After earning nearly $900 million at the global box office on a budget of roughly $180 million, Edwards' soft reboot of the Jurassic World franchise was a major success for the studio and Universal are looking to capitalize on its hype while interest remains high.
According to Daniel Richtman, who has a pretty solid track record for breaking scoops on developing projects, the next Jurassic movie will be a follow-up sequel to Rebirth and will see Scarlett Johansson returning to reprise her role as Zora Bennett. It's suggested that Universal are moving quickly to get the ball rolling on the next sequel as well, likely with a projected release date not too far into the future. It's currently unknown if Gareth Edwards will direct the sequel or not or if another director will be appointed.
Plot details remain unknown currently but we suspect an official announcement will be made soon!
