Universal Pictures have a new Jurassic World movie in the works, supposedly aiming for a June 2028 release date after filings by the movie studio reserved the date for an untitled event film. Now, fans have discovered a domain name that may reveal the title for the next Jurassic movie. I took it upon myself to dig a little deeper into the domain name information which has revealed some interesting details.

The Domain in question: JurassicWorldLiberation[.movie]
Upon looking this domain name up on conventional WHOIS lookup tools, very little is returned. The domain is presented as taken on some registrars however no information is available regarding who owns the rights to it. Other providers don't show the domain is registered at all yet but remains unavailable. MarkMoniter shows the domain is not currently owned by anyone...

It's important to note that the .movie domain extension TLD is run by Identity Digital / Donuts. This provides registry-level blocks for trademark-sensitive strings which could account for the confusing and inconsistent WHOIS reportings. There is a high probability the registry has it reserved or restricted due to trademark sensitivity, even if it is not technically registered yet.
What does this mean?
Currently, it's possible Universal have reserved the right to use the name Jurassic World Liberation, but haven't actively registered the domain name with a provider yet. There are registry-level blocks in place prohibiting anyone else from purchasing the domain name for themselves.
The bigger clue – knowing what to search for...
Where the initial suggestion to look up a Jurassic World Liberation domain name came from remains unknown – the domain name just started circulating with no point of origin. The chances of someone guessing this name is very unlikely, which suggests someone leaked the working title and from there, prompted others to look up the corresponding domain name. This is not something someone would randomly happen upon, this feels like an intentional leak.
What now?
Now we wait. Jurassic World Liberation could be one of many titles Universal are entertaining for the Rebirth sequel, and simply reserved this name just in case. The fact they haven't actively registered the name or attached a site to it, or even placed a temporary redirect to the existing official Jurassic World website suggests the title may still be up for debate. As we learn more we'll keep you posted, but for now we won't assume the next movie will be titled Liberation just yet.
